You bring up a very good point. Only the players originally selected should receive their Pro Bowl bonus. Making it as a 3rd or 4th alternate after players opt out due to injury or Super Bowl appearance, is not the way to receive that bonus.
Take it one step further Byz and more players are pro bowlers than should be because of fill ins, injuries, or other loop holes.
Your an idiot for saying Mark will play in the Probowl. he won't because he Will be leading us to the SuperBowl.
I turned the thing on and on the very first play I saw, Dwight Freeney took a quick three-step rush and then slow danced with the left tackle for five seconds while Aaron Rodgers stood and looked downfield as if he were scanning the horizon for traveling ships. And then I had to listen to Doug Flutie and Mike Mayock talk about Rodgers like what he'd just done was miraculous. This is football? I clicked it off.
I would enjoy a skills competition. How about Vick vs. Tebow; McCoy vs. Peterson; Calvin vs. Andre, etc.
i felt the same way, if not those last 3 games of the season, sanchez would've made the pro bowl, he certainly would deserve more than rivers
Yup, him, Mulligan, Eric Smith and Wayne Hunter were all worthy. Stunning that all 4 of them did not make it.
Getting selected to the All-Pro team is the only legitimate honor. The Pro-Bowl game and it's player selections are garbage.
How is this thing not yet televised on the VS. Network? I can't think of any football fan who actually clears his schedule to sit down and watch 3 hours of the Pro Bowl.
It was pretty bad lol. Football can't afford to lose its stars. But Sanchez had like 26 turnovers? i think or something. And that stretch..was just awful.
I had it on but my only interest was none of our guys getting hurt. Did Revis even play? The AFC had a couple of 24s out there but I never did see him. Saw a bunch of white helmets on the O-line most of the game. The game used to be different, I remember Gastineau being the MVP one year. Now they play no defense at all, I think I heard a couple of NBA players laughing at it.
Yea he played, the 15 minutes I watched he got beat by a Rodgers to Fitzgerald TD. He could have possibly broken the pass up, but he didn't even make an attempt to jump with Fitz and just watched him catch the TD. Terrible game.
Good. I'm glad he didn't jump. Hope they all enjoyed Hawaii. Did anyone catch the back cover of the Post the other day, trashing the Jet Pro Bowlers? I thought that was out of line, I understand everyone wants to pile on us right now, but why pick on the guys who did the best job?
Sanchez had such great stats that he was the 23rd rated QB in the league. Your guarantee has about as much validity as Rex's Super Bowl guarantees.
Yeah, that was right about the time I stopped paying attention. I did see him have a nice pass defense later on in the game, but when Revis doesn't give a shit about giving up a TD, I stop giving a shit about watching.
Does anyone else think that Mangold looks incredibly "fruity" in the photo? Also, Revis looks he was brought along by the other 3 to carry their bags.
Sanchez def had pro bowl stats, but the hate he received and some of it was deserved kept him away from the popularity contest. I do think he will get in the next year and onwards but he might not play in some...
I think he's purposely trying to look goofy, like he was doing with the interview bombing earlier in the season.
