Revis says Rex had no idea about issues in locker room I don't know about you but I am getting sick of Jets players not shutting it and feeding this machine. What the fuck? Revis too? I am also worried for Rex, is he that clueless?
I mean you can't expect a Head Coach with shitty assistant coaches to SEE everything. Not even a simple manager doesn't know whats going on when they're not around... He had a different feeling(beat) for what was truly going on. He(Rex) has said he will has his hand all in the offense this year. Lets move on and see what happens. Rex will rebound and with his input on all offensive decisions I feel this Offensive unit won't quit on him... Lets hope at least
All this crap is going to disappear a few months from now, I have confidence in these players stepping up and correcting their attitudes. Sanchez will be fine, everything will be okay. Just think, it was an absolute disaster of a season and we still won 8 games.
Which is worse? Knowing about it and not knowing what to do or not knowing about it all? I am torn between that two. I don't honestly know which is worse.
Let them...because it's patently obvious there was a huge problem and with each guy that speaks out it just drives the point home more. The more that comes out, the more the urgency will be there to make sure it doesn't happen next year. And if it does, Rex will be gone. I hope some of this gets fixed just by having an actual training camp, but clearly more needs to be done than even that.
This was during the probowl practice, he came up and talked with the NFL network analysts. He probably expected them to ask these kind of questions, but it's not like he went out of his way to answer them. He could have refused to talk with them or dodge the questions, but either would be just as bad as saying a few things that we already know. Not sure why some are upset with his comments or that he commented on the subject when asked.
Not sure why people think these issues will magically disappear. If the Jets couldn't get it worked out down the stretch of a season with the playoffs hanging in the balance, why, all of a sudden can they fix it? Wouldn't during the season have been the better time? I'm also in the camp of not knowing which is worse....Rex knowing and not being able to fix it, or Rex being so clueless he didn't know there was a problem.
^That's funny, because I think they're being blown outta proportion. New offense this year, fresh start.
Unfortunately no it won't until the first game of next season. People LOVE to hate on the Jets, no one will give it up until it gets way too old, which would be next season.
Also, it's quite clear this problem goes beyond Holmes vs Sanchez. When you hear things like "deep discord", or "as bad a locker room as I've been around", there are serious issues. Again, was Rex really not aware of this?
While I think Rex really missed the boat here, where were the OC, the QB coach, WR coach, etc....? These guys that worked every day with the offense had to see something! These guys owe it to the HC to fill him in on how things are going among the players. As bad as it looks for the HC to not know what's going on, it's worse with the OC IMO. While I'm no Shotty hater, he (or the QB coach or WR coach) either was somehow blind to what was going on between the QB and the receivers, or worse, he saw it and did/said nothing about it. Also, if LT knew about it and said nothing to Rex, then he is not much of a leader either.
Good points. I know LT said the players try to police themselves to an extent, but he also said at some point the problem goes to the coaches.
Rex needs to have "his guys" out there leading the team for him and who also report to him directly on the team's morale, attitude, etc
+1. It's not like he said anything we didn't already know. The more out in the open it is the more pressure is put on Rex and the whole team to make sure this all gets put to rest asap. At this point I'm sure Rex understands that if any of this carries over into next season he's going to be on the hot seat. Time to see who the real leaders are...
I agree, but where the hell were they during the season? Revis said, "There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, that I think if we had addressed it (at) the time being, then everything would have been cool, we could have moved on. But obviously we didn’t and the season kind of spiraled late." Why didn't the leaders address it at the time? I don't understand that.
I agree, it's baffling that nobody stepped up while all this was going on during the season but there's no use worrying over that now. We just have to wait and see how they deal with it going forward.
