they let him go because he took off on a fourth down on his own. he did the same thing with the Giants this year too.
westhoff deserves it, he shat on this dude for absolutely no reason ... he should have said, "we just decided we needed to go in a new direction"
Isn't there maybe something to be said that he stunk under one coach and has done well under another? If you think Schotty was to blame for Sanchez's performance, then you have to give credence to what Weatherford is saying.
Mike Westhoff is possibly the best special teams coach and has had a huge amount of success. Weatherford although a good punter for us totally shit the bed in the playoffs. Interesting that he's saying all of this now. He could have said all of this awhile ago.
Weatherford's comments are just another brick on the load that is the media frenzy to kick the Jets when they are down Its terrific Steve Weatherford has done well the pat few weeks, as have many other Giant in this run they are having. Let the Giants continue with this increasing amount of talking they are doing, in the mold of all modern atheletes of today. Do i have to remind you how talky and cocky the Giants were after their last Super Bowl, and wound up literally shooting themselves (and their chances) in the leg with their post Super Bowl behavior.
he has his own reasons for taking shots at westhoff and this is probably the first time the media has spoken to this guy all year. that doesn't mean i have to like what he's saying. go choke on a shakeweight.
Tynes misses that FG to win it if Weatherford doesn't get his hands on a bad snap (wet/cold ball, muddy field) and get the ball down and spun the right way. He basically saved that kick. Typical Jets, classesless loud mouth coach.
Dude, Mike Westhoff is arguably one of the best special teams coach in the history of the league. You have no business running your mouth about him.
By what metric? Does his unit have more takeaways then the rest of the leauge? Does his punter always outkick the leauge? Does opponents return yardage always wind up lower the rest of the leauge? Are the Jets superior at onside kicks? Show me some stats that prove the Jets special teams unit is year in and year out one of the top ones in the leauge.
it was third down ... he could have fallen on it and they would have had another chance justin miller, leon washington, brad smith and now joe mcknight have all excelled at KR under westhoff ... and our kick coverage is always outstanding

Sometimes people can't see whats in from of thier own eyes it seems. Do you spend most of game day overly drunk or do you just not follow Jets football? Westy may be a complete prick, but we've had several top returnteams over the years as the the post above mine show. You look like nothing more than a really bad troll with these posts.
Yeah weatherford has had his moments in the sun(or rain) but more often than not he's been more GOAT than HERO.
No hyperbole there, eh? And anybody on this board has the right to run their mouth about anyone they want to.
He also fucked us over in the 45-3 game that if he punted well during could have changed the game. Instead he had 2 punts of like 20 yards putting us in a guaranteed 14-0 hole. IF we win that game maybe we win the division and the season is different.
