Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said Wednesday during Senior Bowl practice that the Minnesota Vikings are open to trading the third overall pick in the NFL draft according to Simon Samano of NFL.com.

Spielman said in an interview on the NFL Network set. “We’re the third overall pick, so we’ll be looking at all the options. If someone wants to come up and get our pick, we’re going to be more than willing to listen.”

If the Jets can't make an impact in free agency, I wouldn't be surprised at a big draft day move to (over) compensate.

Not even Tanny is stupid enough to do this. With all our needs, we are fine with our current spot. We need all the picks we can get

If the vikings realize one pick is not going to help them, and they are willing to move down and compile picks so they can draft as many players as possible?

Why would the Jets move up and limit themselves to one impact player and all the money that comes with it, as opposed to using the draft to pick as many players as possible and fill all the holes they have?

    Is Tanny Crazy enough? yes

Is it the right thing to do? no

It would take Darrelle Revis or a couple of 1sts and a couple of 2nds to move up for the 3. Realistically it'd probably take Darrelle Revis plus something to get it done.

There are QB's in this draft and that always raises the price of trading up.

I wouldn't mins trading a few picks for Justin Blackmon. But realistically this won't happen.

Not that I would want the #3 pick, but I really don't think it would take that much.
I much prefer sitting where we are and the picks we have now, unless we get more picks through trades..... I hear that Keller may be on the block???

There is no one available at #3 who would be worth the cost of the Jets trading up.

Please no. I don't see any value in trading up for what we need or want.

We have the 16 pick. The 16 pick has less than half the value of the 3 pick. It's going to be less than half the value of the deal. Future picks get degraded about a half a round, so if you think a team values the Jets 2012 pick as the 16 pick it is worth about as much as the 32 pick.

So at this point we have the 3 pick worth about 2,200 points (only more because it is a QB pick) on one side of the deal and the Jets 16 pick and 2012 32 pick worth 1,000 points and 590 points respectively on the other side.

The Jets are still short about 610 points, assuming the Vikings are not charging a premium due to RGIII likely still being on the board on the pick. The Jets 2nd round pick is the 48 (might be 49, not sure), which is worth 420 points. Their 2012 2nd round pick is going to be valued as the 64 worth about 270 points.

    Ok so the deal is:

    Vikings get 16 + 2012 1st + 48 + 2012 2nd for 2,280 points.

Jets get 3 for 2,200 points.

This is almost exactly how this type of deal would be likely to work out.

Yeah I vaguely know how that works, but if a team REALLy wanted to trade down, they might offer value(??)

Have a feeling the Fins may trade up for that pick and get RGIII,so we will have another qb to give us fits for years.
