y would be want another unproven NFL qb? what does he bring to the table? when he sucks in year 1/2, all you guys would want him out and would want to trade for flavor of month. qbs like him, who thinks run first, are never going to be successful in this leauge...keep sanchez

Sanchez plays well when he gets to play against poor pass Ds like the Bills or against prevent Ds late in games that play too "soft". It's a common trait of lower tier QBs. It enables them to pad their stats so that people who don't actually watch them play think they could be good.

And how relevant are the Jets even in their own town?

Every Qb in the league plays best when on a team with a dominant defense and a really good run game where he doesn't have to throw.
The problem is that keeping that up for multiple years is difficult as it takes 11 guys on D and 5 O-lineman, it is basically impossible if you are paying your QB the money we pay Sanchez.

It'd be fuckin retarded for us to give up on Sanchez right now and start over with RGIII. Stick with Sanchez, he will get better.

Or when they thought they had their future QB, paid him and then he sucked it up?

You have to have the talent to allow a team to wait for you to develop. Sanchez doesnt have the talent to be great.

And I dont want a rookie qb - I want Manning. But if not Manning, that still means the Jets dont have a good qb on the roster, and I am thinking of solutions.

And Sanchez has shown little potential. I dont care who his qb coach is, a qb that cant read defenses, cant throw outside the numbers, and cant understand not to throw into a quadruple coverage is a lost cause. And Mark Sanchez is incapable of all 3 of those things.

Or he wont. There is no guarantee that we have not already seen the best he is ever going to be.

And if that is the case, in a year, we will all be sitting here talking about another wasted year with me talking about needing to get a real qb, and others saying shit like, "he is just going into his 5th year, he needs another chance and will develop."

At least the Bills didn't spend 3 or 4 draft picks on Trent Edwards2.0.

You are sadly mistaken if you think Mark doesnt have the talent to be a great QB. He can make every single throw asked of NFL QB’s. His problem is that he hasnt been able to consistently do it.

And honestly... You sound like a five year old “I want Manning”, because as we all know, paying a man 20 million a year is a piece of cake.

To get RG3, you're likely going to have to move up to the 2nd or 3rd spot because Cleveland is probably going to grab him if he's still on the board. St. Louis doesn't need Sanchez, and even if Minnesota wanted him, why would they not just take RG3 instead? I'd rather gamble on RG3 than on someone who's already shown himself to be inconsistent from week to week. Anyway, given the number of teams that are going to be in the mix to pick RG3, the deal that gets him is going to be a helluva lot sweeter than a #16 and Sanchez.

And there is no guarantee that Manning can produce at a high level here for over a year, let alone 2,3 or 4 or that he can actually win us a SB because Manning does tend to underperform in the playoffs. It works both ways.

    A "heist"??????????

The #5 overall draft pick are typically not mediocre players.

we got our longterm answer at QB and basically did so by giving up a 2nd rd pick. It was a GREAT trade.

This is going to be an extremely embarrassing thread in 3 years. The draft is a crapshoot sometimes, but your shades must be pretty green if you don't pull the trigger on this type of deal.
