Keeping him is not setting the franchise back. We're not a manning away from winning the super bowl. We have glaring holes that need to be filled. OL, our LB core with the exception of Harris is old and slow. Our safeties suck donkey dick. Greene's contract is almost up, revis's contract will need to be redone soon. And we need another WR who can stretch the field. We could address most of these issues this year in free agency and the draft. If we go after manning we will be very limited on what we can address for the next several years.

Actually, it's fictitious. I invented it to make my point, so you don't know if they'd choose to air regionally or locally since they don't exist. But my point is still valid: Eli is already a national commercial entity; he's not going to see a huge spike by coming to NY. And unless he wins a SB in NY, he could be overshadowed in this market by his brother who may have won two here by the time Eli arrives.

Their is no frontrunners, weve already identified the most likely teams to get him weeks ago; Jets, Cards, Redskins, Seahawks, Dolphins. After that there is teams like the Browns and long shot Broncos and maybe the 49ers (very unlikely at this point) Thats about it I think.

Alex Smith put his team in position to win the game. He outplayed Eli. If it wasnt for Williams, Alex would be playing in the Super Bowl right now.

I disagree. We dont need elite players all over the field. We get Manning, a new RT, and Braylon, were no worse off than the Pats currently. An elite QB makes a world of difference. Every team has glaring holes but an elite QB can mask those holes. This team needs to win within the next few years because a lot of our core players arent going to be into their prime much longer.

WR wouldnt even be an issue if Peyton was here. He can make garbage recievers like Collie and Garcon into stars. I think Braylon would be a huge plus with Peyton tho. Peyton would have so many options between Keller, Holmes, Edwards, Kerley.

"garbage" Garcon had his best year this year w/ actual garbage at QB. Pierre Garcon is a very talented WR

He had 13 games without a TD.... How is that even possible when Reggie Wayne is getting all the attention?!?!?

and yet still ended up w/ the same amount as he had w/ Peyton in 2010 PLUS in '11 they had Dallas Clark back so there were more guys to throw to.

    More recs
    significantly more yds
    significantly higher average
    same TDs

Garcon is an immensely talented player

Who said anything about elite? I don't want to be "no worse off" than the patriots, I want to be better than them. Are we going to be able to acquire safeties who can cover a tight end? A LB who can apply pressure on a qb without us sending the house? If there wasn't a salary cap i would be fine with taking a chance on manning, however, this isn't madden, you can't turn the salary cap off.

Heres the bottomline, if Rex and Tannenbaum think they can win a Super Bowl with Peyton they will get him. If they dont, they wont

With the tools we have, we wouldn't win a super bowl with Peyton from 3-4 years ago.

People need to shut the fuck up about the super bowl shit, thinking that Peyton gets us to a super bowl. He's had BETTER teams and couldn't get them to super bowls..

His hand has already been forced..it doesn't matter if it's the Giants or the Pats he has to go for broke again as he did in '08. Well, I suppose he doesn't have to but I am betting he will.

What teams were better? didnt he got 14-2 two years ago? and then in 2010 they were injured but in 2011 they were healthy so it was pretty much that same 14-2 team back again minus Peyton.

Howd that turn out? maybe those teams werent so good after all...
