I feel like lately there have been more rediculous posts than usual. I think it may har to do with the great Super Bowl matchup.
He cost us quite a few games this year but dont kill the guy for having an opinion. He doesnt have blinders on like half of this fan base.
Its funny how it took THIS long for the Colts fans and the mainstream NFL experts to realize that Peyton isnt coming back. I remember John Clayton saying 1 week ago saying "Peyton will absolutely be back if he is healthy" blah blah, IT HAS NOTHING TO do with his health. I gotta give credit to Fatcessa because he was the only media person who was saying it was over for Peyton in Indy like a month ago.
I'm not trying to kill anyone. Bottom line is this Sanchez right now is a second tier qb. He can win games in this league but he's not Brady/manning/Ben/brees or that level. Can he get better?absolutely. Are there worse? Most definitely. I'm not a homer or sanchez lover I just think it is in the franchises best interest to see what they have with a new oc and a full training camp.
Sanchez isn't second tier at all 1- P. Manning, Brady 2- E. Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger 3- Schaub, Ryan, Flacco, Stafford, Smith, Vick, Romo, Rivers, Cutler 4- Everyone else (Sanchez ranked 23rd in the league in passer rating, that is not second tier)
Man....Wouldn't THAT be a hell of a signing for Pete Carroll's Team? With THAT Crowd over there? Question : Can the Jets afford to keep Sanchez after signing Peyton? My opinion : No. So your idea, as good as it sounds, won't come to fruition.
It makes total sense that Arizona and Seattle are in the pole position at this point. Peyton Manning wants to go to a low-key location, like Indy was, where he can at least think about moving his family if he decides to settle in for a few years. Actually I think his number one destination is probably Tennessee, but he knows that if he says that he increases the chances that the Colts pay the option bonus and he's stuck waiting for them to try to resolve the logjam.
Dump him. Go get manning. Then in two years we can go back to draft and trade three more picks for another unproven qb.
Yeah and then go through ANOTHER 3 Seasons and then DUMP the QB so we can go draft yet ANOTHER Unproven QB....and then DUMP that QB so we can go draft yet *ANOTHER* Unproven QB.... OR we could have some PATIENCE??? That would work, too....
So how long do wait until you cut him, the excuse next year is gonna be "well its a new system, give him time to learn it".
Cut Sanchez and sign who exactly? What would the cap hit be for cutting Sanchez? What better qb's are available who we could realalistically sign with out setting the franchise back? These are questions people should ask themselves before yapping about cutting a 3rd year qb.
I say we give him another year. New OC with a new system, it could swing either way for Sanchez. The cost for Peyton is just so much, for a fragile aging player, who although can still play, risks the chance of breaking down.
Wow, I stopped caring about the rest of the post after the first 3 words because it finally shed a light (no pun intended) on what John Clayton looks like. Never could put my finger on it. Spot on with lightbulb head.
Getting Manning is absurd, the Jets have way more pressing needs to attend to. With a new OC, lets just see what happens with Sanchez first. I think the better way to help Sanchez is to improve the Oline (can't be hard) and improve the rushing attack.
I don't understand all the logic behind cutting Sanchez. I don't think it saves us any money and we still have to pay him. He has two years left on his contract, and if he doesn't perform well with a better OL next year we have to consider our options and search for another QB in the draft. I see all the people that want Sanchez cut right now saying that next year there are going to be excuses and that we are going to hold onto him for "10 years". From what I have read, most people that want to keep Sanchez with the new OC are saying if he doesn't show improvements next year we start looking for another QB. I think the people that want Sanchez cut now think he has to be cut now or he is going to be resigned for another 5/6 years for no reason whatsoever? I don't understand the logic.
i am on board for bringing peyton in only if they restructure mark's contract so we aren't paying him too much $$ to be on the bench...make the contract backend loaded. this way peyton can be our qb while sanchez can learn from him for next couple of years. lastly, i dont want the jets to give up crazy amount of picks/players to get peyton here either
I don't want the Jets to cut Sanchez, but it would save them over $9 million against the cap in '12 and over $6 million in '13 if he were cut.
If anyone's listening to Bill Polian on Mike-n-Mike right now, and STILL wants Manning.......... "the nerve that effects the function of the tricep muscle......hopefully regenerates"
