So St. Louis was better than NO this year? Because if NO was the better team they would have won using your argument. And last year Cleveland was better than NE since if NE was better they would have beaten them? KC is better than GB also becuase if GB was better they would have won? Terrible argument. You can be better than a team and lose. The better team THAT day usually wins, but you can be an overall better team and lose to a worse team. That is what makes the NFL so great. The difference between terrible and amazing is a few bounces on any given Sunday/Saturday/Thursday/Monday.
Without irrelevant stats that you can cherry pick to defend this argument I'm going to have to agree with Junc.
I will be the first to admit that the packers are a better overall team than the Giants. It's really all about getting hot at the right time in the NFL today. So many 1 and 2 seeds have gotten picked off last 6 or 7 years that really just getting in gives you a chance. I don't know that the Jets were better than any of the teams they played in those road champ games but I can emphatically say that the 82 team was far superior to Miami.
I understand your frustration but this is just false. There is a reason why the Jets were the visiting team in those games.
Memory serves me and I was young I think they lost 2nd game in Miami real close. I still think the Jets of The sack exchange, Todd, McNeil, walker w Etc were better than that David woodley qb'd team.
Make that 5-0 Just make sure all of you decide for the Giants to win over the Patriots, if the apocalypse does not come by then
You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas; you've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone. ...hehe
Even the mighty Giants have never reached the conference championship two seasons in a row. People try to diminish the Jets 2009 and 2010 seasons (cough Mike Francesca) without having any understanding of Jets history. We have been to the conference championship game only 4 times in over 40 years (I lost count) as a franchise. The New England playoff win last year was arguably the second best win in this franchises history. We have been to this game 2 times in 3 years under Rex. How any Jets fan can turn on Rex and Tannenbaum after one 8-8 year is beyond me. Fellas, the Jets do not set the bar high. This is why it baffles me how our fans can be so fickle, and do stupid things like boo Mark Sanchez. Because Mark Sanchez is so horrible... I'm sure you miss the glory days of Chad Pennington (one year wonder) and Vinny Testaverde (one year wonder). We haven't had a franchise QB since Joe fucking Namath. Geezzz.... If you want to be wine and cheese fans, root for the Giants, Pats, and Steelers. I for one will sink and swim with the Jets.
Umm... in the last 5 years, the Giants have won a SB and are about to play in another. Are you seriously holding up your two losses in AFCCGs as some kind of accomplishment next to that?
Even IF we ever made it to the SB, it will be like, well we finally made it after 40 something or 50 years and the Giants have done it how many times?
