Your team is going through its 5TH(7th if you include Jimmy Bates & Todd Bowles) regime change in 8 years, and you're trying to feel good about yourself by kicking the Jets while they're down. At the end of the day, your team STILL stinks & sports teal on a weekly basis. That's BEYOND a comedy show..that's on Fresh fucking prince of Bel Air level funny! No one is saying the AFCCG is an accomplishment. Opposing fans & the media need to realize its merely an indication as to gauge where the organzation IS in their pursuit of a championship. One could argue the jets overachieved in 2009, it was encouraging the steps the Jets took to going 11-5 and falling short in Pittsburgh via 2010. The 2011 Jets saw 19 players leave via FA,with only 6 weeks of TC which had to be done out of Rex's Cortland comfort zone.Not an excuse. No one in the organization or fan base is content. Team finished 8-8 and just missed it. They had some holes pop open that need to be addressed but did manage to see young players begin to step up and become major contributors. They hope they found an OC more conducive with Rex's philosophy as well as the offense's talent.With a full off season ahead some ammo via draft picks/cap room, I wouldn't bet against this group moving forward.
Amen, I was thinking the same thing. Cundiff was running to the spot to get set up for the kick. He was about out of breath coming in. Harbaugh was a damn idiot for not calling timeout.
True. I hope that's the case with the Jets. I actually didn't think it would be, but listening to Rex the other day on Francesa's show made me think that he might actually be willing to learn from past failures and that he may actually have what it takes to turn this team into a legitimate contender. We'll see if that was legitimate or if it was a public relations smokescreen. Right now, I have no reason not to take him at his word. So, I think the Jets could be a playoff team again as soon as 2013 and, if all goes right, a Superbowl contender by 2014-2015, and perhaps a perennial contender until 2018-19.

What a crock a shit from some of you guys. Ray Lewis was an accessory to Murder and a piece of shit of a human being before he was scared straight! What a gracious concession speech ; Oh please. what would any leader of a team say? He is indeed the leader of that team and Scott would have never been a leader of that team if he stayed and Lewis came here ( Never would happen by the way). Rex is a terrific coach , but his faith that his coordinators would do their Jobs was his undoing. Quick someone start a thread or poll " Who wants Ray Lewis to the Jets". Coaching is why the ravens lost that game yesterday! Maybe the honorable Ray Lewis is who made the call to rush the field goal kicker out rather then use a time out to get it together before kicking

The reason you're hearing about it is because half of the fan base keeps yapping about 8-8 and firing the entire staff, so they are, in turn, reminded of why we shouldn't clean house after 8-8. It just doesn't make sense. Ya dig?
Interesting read. While Ray's comments may have been classy, I didn't see anyone mention that after last week's game Ed Reed called out Flacco basically saying that they offense better not screw it up for the defense. This is not the first time that conversation has come up in regards to the Ravens either. They just squashed it quicker this time. Rex looks to be a good HC who tried something this season that just didn't work. He tried to be more of a manager than a hands-on HC and that just doesn't seem to be his style.
For me, it boils down to this...when it has mattered most, in the playoffs, Rex has beaten teams he was supposed to lose to, Harbaugh has repeatedly failed when challenged by "better" teams. Harbaugh will never, ever over see the kind of monumental upset Rex engineered against New England in 2010.
I live in Baltimore, and know the team well. Ravens fans and Steelers fans are one in the same. Just a bunch of bandwagon idiot/rednecks. Rex would have been revered in that setting IMO. John Harbaugh does not seem like anything special. He allows Chuck Pagano to run the defense, and Cam Cameron run the offense. He is the ultimate "CEO" kind of coach, which is what Rex criticized himself for being this year. Would the Ravens have fared any better with Rex? Not sure, but I can guaranty the would not be any worse. I could guaranty you that the Jets would be worse if John Harbaugh was our coach. Our defense doesn't have the talent or experience that the Ravens do, yet it has been statictically better than the Ravens over 3 years under Rex. The Ravens are significantly better than the Jets at the skill positions (WR, QB, TE, RB). However, much like the Jets their offensive line is dreadful in pass protection. That was their one weakness this year from what I saw. The Ravnes have 11 UFA's this year, and Ed Reed may retire. We'll find out how great Harbaugh is then.
I agree. If this year forces Rex to mature a little bit as a head coach, and forces Tannenbaum to go back to building this team through the draft, 2011 could be just as important to this franchise as 2009 & 10.
