To all the Ravens fans that got some joy with the Holmes mess and Jets implosion - which receiver would you rather have now? Sure Tone is a pain in the a$$, but he is a champion and always makes the game winning catch when given the opportunity.
After watching him last season, especially against the Eagles, I don't think it is safe to say at all.
This isnt Holmes fault. 99 yard TD + Sanchez's timeout before half against the Pats = Super Bowl 46 If those 2 things dont happen, the Jets make the playoffs and maybe win the division, it sucks a lot.
Just because he had one bad game, you say he couldnt do it? I guess the most difficult thing was he would have had to get open in order to make the play--that seems to be more difficult for Holmes than catching it.
If Hitler had concentrated on attacking Moscow with all his eastern forces, Russia might have surrendered too. *Lesson? 1. It is pointless to talk about what-ifs. 2. WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED??? IT DID NOT EVEN HAPPEN!!*
So people talking about Evans' "drop" did you watch the game? That was pretty clearly a great play by the defender to punch the ball out rather than a drop.
This is the 3rd year in a row the Ravens screwed us in the asshole. First they could of eliminated the Pats this year making the superbowl bearable. Then last year they SHOULD of beaten the Steelers giving us a much more favorable matchup against them in the AFCCG. And the year before that they SHOULD of beaten Peyton giving us a home game for the AFCCG. I swear the Ravens are the biggest choke team in the entire nfl by a mile, Lewis Reed Suggs and Ngata deserve better, if Lewis and Reed were younger im absolutely certain theyd leave to join Rex at this point
No, I didn't say he couldn't do it, I suggested that it was a "sure catch" in that moment for Holmes because of how bad he sucked this past season. Holmes played like a selfish man that just got paid. Simple as that, he had no desire to make those clutch plays because he already got his money.
No offense, but I'm so sick and tired of people mentioning the Sanchez time out being the reason why the Jets lost the second Pats game. Sanchez should have waited before he called the TO (running off another :25 or so). However, The Pats scored TD with about :17 seconds left in the half and still had a time out left that they didn't use. So even though Sanchez made a mistake it wasn't the deciding factor. And while we're on the subject I didn't like the reaction by Rex at all after that play. Instead of being concerned about his "D" letting the Pats score at the end of the half he basically threw his QB under the bus calling it basically "the dumbest play in NFL history". Not a smart thing to say at the moment. You can point to a lot of things (plays / decisions) why the Jets didn't make the playoffs this year. The fumble by Cromartie against the Raiders, the INT by Sanchez against the Broncos, the 67 pass plays called against the Giants, Holmes plays against the Eagles, etc. What reasons you choose to pick out are totally arbitrary depending on the point you want to make. There is plenty of blame to go around.
