Been where twice? You haven't won the division, the league, or the SB? And the bragging on losing a couple of AFC championship games is kinda weak. I get that you're glad to have gotten that far after the drought you guys went through, but no one hangs banners in the stadium for losing a league championship game. I spend more time on the Phinsider board than I do here, but I do love the Fins-Jets rivalry. And I'm not going to pretend that I haven't enjoyed your collapse, the inner turmoil, and knocking you guys out of the playoffs. Plus, I do enjoy some of the silly stuff I read here... like the guy who said the Jets should trade Sanchez for a 1st and 3rd round draft pick and then went on to piss all over his skill set. It's like listening to the folks who call The FAN and propose trading Pelfrey and a ham sandwich for Verlander or some such nonsense. Anyway, it's all in fun. Gotta be able to laugh at your troubles sometimes.
You didn't knock us out of the playoffs the Giants did. Go back to phinsiders and talk about how Matt Moore is going to take you to the playoffs.
You must be laughing quite a bit then. When a rookie and 2nd year QB along with the same in a head coach make it to back to back AFC championships, it is something to look at. NFL franchises don't throw a plan away and start over any time they don't make or win the Superbowl. There is such a thing as context - something you are clearly lacking. But sure, go ahead and shit over this franchise all you want and enjoy their down year. Continue to delight at the idea of the Jets never getting back into the playoffs, enjoying a losing season for the dolphins while their season's value hangs on knocking a team out of the playoffs. That is what being a fan of a shitty franchise is all about - making up stuff to delight in, rather than focusing on your team's own issues.
what fucking drought are you talking about? you didn'nt knock us out of playoffs. what collapse? It was a down year after 2 very good years. yes ,it is all in good fun. but when your team has been hanging out at the bottom a really long time, and you come and start using terms like collapse, and drought,it looks foolish. losing 2 afccgs is not the end result we want, but getting there twice in 3 years with this current team is pretty promising.
lol if we beat you we still wouldnt of made the playoffs, all you did was give us a better excuse to revamp our coaching staff, and a better draft pick while hurting your own. We should be thanking you
THIS. I mean we needed help in the Texans/Titans game and didn't get it so it became a MOOT POINT whether we won or lost. So to the phin-fan, I say "No". The Phins didn't knock the Jets out but as dcm stated, they may have forced the NECESSARY changes desperately needed to build this Football team the way it was supposed to be. Thank you, Miami.
No, the Giants beat you; we eliminated you from playoff competition. You know it, I know it, every person on this board knows it. But if lying to yourself makes you feel better, keep on keepin' on. And Matt Moore isn't taking us to the playoffs. We need a qb. Quite a bit and for a long time. Those losing efforts in those two league championship games are behind you. Right now, you're an 8-8 team with a mess of crap to deal with. Miami's been to 5 Super Bowls. You know what that means today? Not a damn thing ...just like your losing appearances in two championship games. You're not fixing the team you had then; you're fixing the team you have now. Isn't this the team that went to back to back AFC championship games??? I keep hearing all about it as if it were current news. Isn't this the team that was 8-5 and had a playoff berth dangling in their faces??? And what did your team do with those last three games when you had the playoffs on the line? They collapsed. They shit the bed. Whatever you want to call it. But like I said, if lying to yourself is what it takes for you nice folks to get through this, go for it. That my team needs work is no secret. But it's also true that they finished the season better than they started so I'm hopeful they're spiraling up ...and that's more than you can say about the Jets without sacrificing the truth.
Blow it out your ass dolphin fan! We have had more success then your women's football team for several years now. Haters gonna hate I know , but blasphemy will not be tolerated!:finssuck:
I'm not claiming we've been successful lately but we did win the division in 2008. You guys haven't actually won anything since the 1998 season. That's a long time, friend.
I'll take 4 playoff wins and 2 afccg appearances over your 08 division win and getting bounced easily any day. Your team has been a piece of shit with fucking gay colors for a long time. Go home and address that
Wrong. We still have most of the same roster that we did when we went to back to back AFCCGs. How many players on your current roster went to one of those 5 Super Bowls? Right, exactly. Sure, those two championship games are in the past now, but being that we still have essentially the same team (and coach for that matter) as we did then, they're still relevant when discussing our current team.
So you want to claim that our two AFCCG appearances are ancient history and then turn around and hang your hat on winning the division in '08. C'mon man, gimme a break.
If you have the same team, you should have been successful again, yet you shit the bed. Sorry man, you have a whole new set of problems. Read what I said again. I'm not claiming success, I'm saying that recents successes in both our teams' histories are irrelevant at this point since we have to deal with our teams as they sit today. As it sits right now, we're both rooting for mediocre teams.
well,if thats the case i certainly like where we sit much better than where you are. And actually the jets are above mediocre and the dolphins are below
that is also = going to 2 afccg and winning 4 road playoff games is not as good as being bounced in 1 playoff game
Which everyone on this board has highlighted...in response to our "new problems"..which aren't very new by any means. A LOT of our problems are from players who played well in the playoffs last year and failed to perform this season and have caused problems as such, namely the absence of our RT, Stretching the field via Braylon, competent safeties and a pass rusher. These are HUGE holes which very directly affected our success on the field that we underestimated. These, however, are all very fixable in the off season via FA or draft. And since our team is so alike from the last two years -- with these new recent holes fixed, we should be back into working form which was very similiar to the 2010 team. Assuming we get a competent RT and Braylon back and fixes to the Safety position. I don't see us losing any Key FA's this off season, and frankly, it seems all upside in terms of upgrading our roster.. assuming we upgrade in the right places and not splurge on Peyton or some big name FA that we don't need. Only problem I don't see us solving is a premium Pass rusher.
