heres the way i would like to see our draft break down.

    1st round Courtney Upshaw OLB
this guy is very solid, and has been one of the best at his position, perfect size for a 3/4 olb. he really doesnt have any weakness

2nd round Markelle Martin S, Oklahoma state

the guy hits like a mack truck, and is also a ball hawk. hes very athletic also.

3rd round Marvin McNutt WR, Iowa
excellent size, and even better hands. you throw the ball near this guy, and he catches it. he lacks ideal speed, but runs excellent routes.

4th round Zebrie Sanders OT, FSU
this guy has played a lot of college ball, so experience is high. he has played LT, and RT, and i think he projects as a better RT.

5th round Juron Criner WR, Arizona
he is an average route runner, but makes up for it with his hands. what i love about him is how he is after the catch. he breaks tackles well, and looks to go downfield as fast as possible

6th round George Bryan TE, North Carolina State

good size and weight with descent hands. i think he blocks well.

7th round Derek Dennis OG, Temple

def a project but could develop into good depth

We would be lucky if Zebrie Sanders dropped to our 2nd....

I think, with some luck Zebrie Sanders could be there in the 3rd round (probably not) - but he certainly won't drop to round 4.

Except he falls asleep again in some trainings/games - this was one of the most hilarious situations I've ever seen in football...

Id like it, not the biggest Upshaw fan but overall good mock. However, asking for some of these guys to fall to us that late is asking alot

I think I might rather have Merciless over Upshaw at this point, tough to say. Really like them both, same with Hightower although he's definitely a later first round/ early 2nd round pick.

When ever i watch Upshaw he seems like a good run defender/Tackler, Solid in coverage and solid in pass rushing but i feel he would be good as an ILB as well.

As for Merciless he seems like a legit 3-4 pass rusher. High motor, Excellent speed around the edge and a large arsenal of moves. I think he's the better pass rusher although he isn't that good against the run and pretty poor against the past from what i have seen. I rather get Merciless being he is the more fierce pass rusher.

yea, i was torn on the two as well. im thinking upshaw would be a 8 sack kind of guy, but very solid in coverage, and merciless i agree is a much better pass rush with possible 14 sack potential, but lacs coverage.

i would be ok with either of them, i just thought upshaw was more complete

I'd like to trade back and get an extra day two pick. With the later first round pick Take Barron or Kuechley (BC MLB), who I think has more to offer than Hightower. With the second rounder I'd take Allen (TE Clemson). Allen is a dual threat as he's an extremely good blocker, good speed and very good hands. With the third rounder I'd take the best player between S (if Kuechley is selected first) or WR w/ speed. We need someone to stretch the field, not another Holmes. With the extra day two pick from the first round trade down I'd look at the OLine and what I didn't address with the previous pick. In the fourth I'd look at Texas A&M QB Tannyhill and if he's gone Mich St QB Cousins. I'd also take a long look at Danny Coales, the WR from VaTech. He's got great hands, runs decent, can punt and return punts.

Yo if we get Hightower in the second I'll be doing back flips all the way to radio city, but that's highly unlikely

It should be. He has a top second round rated tackle in the 4th, and another wideout rated for the top end of the second going in the 5th. Of course that draft looks great.

Lmfao. Let's be fair this draft was awhile ago but even then the values were out of wack and no new names were really introduced.

Didn't see the dates, but things were very similar in rankings at those times as well. 2 weeks ago with no work outs or interviews did not change things much if at all.

Just a thought here: if every pick is at a position of need the odds are really good the Jets gave up value in the process. I'd be a lot happier with a draft that had 2 or 3 picks at positions the Jets were ok at but the value was just too strong to pass up.
