You left out that Revis was asking for a new contract, and threatening a hold out. Cro was the answer to the Colts game, with Wilson insurance, and in fact they did start Wilson in pre-season when Revis had not yet returned to the team. Many here were saying if Revis held out they at least had Wilson, with Cro as the number one Cb. And of course you can't find examples of 1st round picks playing nickel in their second year. I don't think there are any. Not any living up to being first round picks, anyway.
Cro was not the answer to the Colts game. Cro was Lito Sheppards replacement. We'll have to agree to disagree on the drafting of K Wilson. I think 3 starter quality corners is a must in the NFL today. You don't. Moving on.
Heh, well, I really just started the thread to get some conversation going about the GM position, because Tanny has gotten far too much of a pass for drafting a handful of elite players to go with a score of mediocre and below average and downright terrible players. I had expected to see more from people in terms of GM suggestions, so thank you for that post.
Bill Polian wouldn't last 2 weeks in the NY Media......1 beat columnist and 1 opinion guy at the Indy Star gave him fits.
Polian was fired in part because he was using the Colts to launch his son's career. Chris Polian was no GM material. Bill Polian himself is probably only looking for a consultant's job - his days of rebuilding teams is probably over.
Take a look at our second round picks. Polian has been picking at the bottom of the draft for 10 years.
no half senile Polian, thank you TOO BAD we can't have the GM trade ALL our half baked sky is falling assclown "fans" to some other team
If they could actually sell out the stadium with the good fans who are willing to sit through a real rebuild with quality management in place and in tact they probably would.
The Jets are the Jets. Until they get the Super Bowl monkey off of their back and off of the fan's backs they aren't going to be rational. Unfortunately this makes it less likely that they'll succeed. Mike Keenan and Mark Messier alongside a carefully assembled group of prime time talent and a few good young guys is what got the Rangers over the hump. The Jets understand the Messier part and none of the rest of it.
so what about the Eagles, Lions, Bills and other teams that haven't even one ANY of the Superbowls ever played?? are they wallowing in even more misery than Jet fans??
Eagles fans are the worst. The Lions reset expectations with the Millen era: any season that does not wind up 3-13 or worse looks like heaven to their fans. Bills fans are so petrified of losing the team that they're just glad to have it.
Please stop pretending some fans are better than others. I will go out and buy tickets the second Mark Sanchez is gone. I doubt many of the Sanchez apologists will do more than that.
mark sanchez is thankfully staying which I'm presuming that means the stadium will be Milcus-free a win-win for the Jets
speaking of Revis, tanny traded up to get him, he also rebuild this team with his first two draft picks being d-brick and mangold, he also drafted l.washington in the 4th rd. I'll give you gholston. but kerley, greene, keller, harris, and the above mentioned are good players. and does anybody remember how maligned Eli was??????????? Jesus feller, sanchez has been in the league only three seasons.
Yeah, I am sure Woody would rather keep a shitty qb and not get 200 bucks a week from me over 8 to 10 games per year. Because he doesn't need that $1,600 bucks when he can have stadiums that are not 100% filled because his qb is a joke. This just shows that unlike Woody, yiou have no business instinct. Woody wants to fill the stadium, get people to buy shit while there, and to go buy Jersey's after. Because of that, he isn't riding Sanchez's dick because he knows it will get him nowhere from a business perspective. And lets be honest, at the end of the day, that is what this is all about for him.
since the stadium is already filled (except for less than a thousand club seats and about 3000 UD seats) and ALL of those upper deck seats will be easily refilled as they were last year by selling season tickets first and then individual game tickets on Ticketmaster without any significant staffing or overhead costs to the Jets, I'm pretty certain that the team and their owner are not that worried about not having Milcus in his seat in the back of the UD endzone booing the Jets starting quarterback
