The title really speaks for itself. His record of building contenders does, too.

His record for having an all time great QB is very good.

He has been the personnel guy for more than one team. Maybe you should Google him.

I just did to make sure I wasn't missing something.

I'll add on that he doesn't do a good job of looking into players health before giving them huge contracts. Tanny gives thugs money but at least they are able bodied thugs.

Just fire Tannenbaum and hire Polian. People think this Holmes mess is the only bad move Tannenbaum has made...what about Gholsten, or Wilson (1st round pick to play along side Revis and we know how that worked out), maybe even Sanchez if they are now having meetings to decide if he is their guy going forward. How many high round picks does he get to squander before he has to answer for it?

No doubt he's a great GM but isn't he like 95?

The guy turned an expansion franchise into an instant contender, and built the best team in the AFC for four years straight. Before he got to the Colts.

People want to lay every ounce of success that the Colts had over the past decade at Manning's doorstep, just because of the 2011 season. Those teams were stacked with smart offensive talent. Not to mention the fact that he knows how to build a deep and able pass rush.

.... and look he's left in his wake in Indy. His recent drafting record is a mess. Polian at one time was one of the top minds in the NFL and the way he built up The Bills, the Panthers and Indy is impressive. The collapse of the Colts this year is equally impressive, but in a bad way. He's missed on a lot of first and second round picks in the last 5 years leaving a roster with very little young talent behind him. No thanks.

Kind of makes you wonder why the sudden streak of failure though, doesn't it? Political stuff happens behind the scenes, and if the recent upheaval in Indy says anything, he may have been egged out of things over the course of time.

Maybe he's senile, but I still think he'd be a far better fit as GM than Tanny.

I think we should release every player under contract and start over plus we should get a new coahcing staff, new owenserhip and a new front office. Completely clean house from the stench of 2 title game trips in 3 years. Maybe we can hire Rich Kotite back? Bruce Coslet? let's get Pat Kirwin away from Sirius NFL radio, we can go back to the late 80s-mid 90s like that! That's what we need.

Bill Polian is an excellent GM but we have a good one, Bill is past his prime and should retire.

I´d say his first two drafts were pretty good, with Mangold, Brick, Revis and Harris early on.

If Tanny is going to stay, there needs to be an overhaul in the scouting department. And Scott Cohen needs to go. Ever since that guy walked into the building, the personnel moves have been lukewarm at best. He is the football guy in Tanny's ear.

Absolutely..through 2007 he made good moves, since then and that's 4 years it's tough to find even one, maybe Wilkerson will have been worth it..time will tell.

    2008-2011 good acquisitions:

    Thomas Jones
    Dustin Keller
    Mark Sanchez
    Shonn Greene
    Matt Slauson
I'll leave out the last 2 draft picks since it takes time to develop although Mo & Kerly look like a keepers(now if we can just find a Larry).

    Holmes
    Edwards
    Scott
    Leonhard
    Pace
    Richardson
    Woody
    Faneca
    Jenkins
    Feely
    Folk
    LT

He's done a good job for us, we have had just one losing season in his 6 years here. He's also overseen 4 playoff wins and 2 title game apps- something no other GM in team hisotry can come close to.
