He might be ultimately responsible but the whole thing starts with a qb that doesn't instill respect in the locker room. They see what we see, and more.
Seems pretty clear he has already decided he is not coming back next year and is auditioning for an ESPN/NFL Network gig. I dont get the Sanchez being pampered thing as a big deal - all he is essentially saying is that Sanchez has no competition (true) and would benefit from being pushed more by some real competition (also true). he is not saying that Sanchez spends all his time lying on a couch being fed grapes and fanned. the reactions to rex on this board are also ridiculous - all this "shut your month" stuff is a joke and its sad to see even here how many people have bought into the media spun image of rex as a trash talker or blowhard and that never seem to actually listen to what it is that rex actually says or how he says it.
This should be embarrassing to any Jet fan...the pic to go along with the story on Fox Sports...I also think more heads have to roll before things get back to quasi-normal.
well this sucks and it seems like just yesterday holmes and sanchez were goofing around in a preseason game
He said a lot, but I don't think he was ripping the Jets. However, there are a lot of issues that need to be cleared up and the Holmes / Sanchez one is the most important one because I don't see how you get rid of either player.
I hate the excuse that rex is motivating other teams, did he motivate Cincy, SD, Indy and NE in the playoffs? Come on, go out and execute. What is said means very little come Sundays. I hate the excuses. LT knew what Rex was about when he signed on, he should have went to Minnesota if he didn't like it.
How ironic is this..it is cheaper for the Jets to cut Sanchez than it is to cut Holmes. Only 5 million in dead money to cut Sanchez and almost 13 if they cut Holmes.
They aren't getting rid of a 3 year QB who has guided his team to two AFC Championship Games and has shown to be able to rise his level of play when it matters the most.
And that's the problem and why it is Tannenbaum they should have already dumped for putting the team in a situation where this could even possibly develop. One of them HAS to go, the media in NY will never leave it alone. They will start in camp and you will hear stories and tweets about anonymous comments every week until the season ends.
Tannenbaum made a mistake in picking Holmes over Edwards, but he's made more good decisions than bad one's. Dumping Tannenbaum makes ZERO sense.
It makes all the sense in the world. Much better GMs than he have already been dumped this year and he has ultimate accountability for everything that happens with personnel.
that's all past history, done and over with. we didn't win any superbowls either. might as well live off the broadway joe years if that's how you look at things.
please, no henne! he's sanchez II minus the mobility. we already have a qb with accuracy problems, why add more of the same?
No way Victor Cruz makes that game changing play without the motivation from Rex...... I agree The Giants were playing for their lives. Oh they tried EXTRA hard, not to save their season but cuz of Rex... REALLY?????? I'm sure they had their stereos at 11 pre-game as well. AFTER a game I can see the reward being greater and sweeter but, out on the field it's about execution.
talks way too much! really doesn't get involved in the offense as much as a head coach should! did not take control of a bad situation when the jets were throwing the ball 59 times, yet were in the game the whole 60 minutes, yet he didn't have the know how or balls to do what any good coach would have! did not noticethe rift with players tearing the locker room apart? i'd say that's all we need to know to come to the rightful conclusion that rex isn't head coach material. he's a good defensive co and thats about it!
