I firmly believe that santonio holmes has to go... there is a point where talent and skill is irrelevant and undermined because of character... there is a reason Pitt booted him out of their locker room - How many of you feel the same way? we need to gauge how much of jets nation wants this man out of the locker room - and if the anti-holmes sentiment it strong enough - we need to form a website with an online petition and MAKE SURE THE JETS MANAGEMENT HEARS THE FANS? how can we bring this man back in next year in light of all the recent revelations about character - money isnt even an issue anymore - if i have to see these results from a fragmented locker room and team again next year i will be furious - and honestly, i think people will be calling for rex and tanny's head.. something must me done
johnson and johnson selling plenty lotion - and the jets are making money - PAY THIS A - HOLE TO SIT DOWN - like tampa did keysean - it will keep him from anyone elses roster (even though i think he is going to end up like randy moss or T.O)
we complain about the revolving door of WR's we have going through Sanchez, we cant get rid of our #1 reciever. Keep him
Personally, I don't view the Jets as a "win now" team. I think with the number of holes they currently have on the roster they are, at least, a couple of years away from seriously contending. So, I would cut Holmes, take the salary cap hit next season and send a message to the rest of the team that this stuff won't be tolerated. That said, I don't think the Jets will do that. The Jets take a band-aid approach to everything. And, they will treat this cancer with a band-aid. They will do their best to have Sanchez and Holmes kiss and make up, they will be very public about it, and they will take every oppotrunity to tell the media how close the lockerroom is and how both players have matured...blah, blah, blah. And, they'll get no closer to a Superbowl.
hell we did more with less in 09 - we dont need peyton or any 50 million dollar players (except revis) ... we need to get back to FOOTBALL -
not if we send a message to the top brass - i cant put up with this next season - i will go f*#king nuts
Do you see how Sanchez (and thus this team) can get better without any receivers to throw to ? Maybe its just me but the thought of Turner, Plaxico, and Kerley as our receiving corp is absolutely terrifying . For us to not be ranked 30th or worse in the passing game would be a miracle. Footballs salary cap sucks, Holmes is here to stay at least another two years
Let's learn a little people. Cutting Holmes would kill the Jets cap for the next few years. We would basically be forced at that point to role with this roster (without our FAs) and have Kerley as our most likely #1 or 2 if we brought in a vet for the minimum. If you want to have a 5-11 season, go ahead and cut Holmes.
No, cutting him would result in a one year cap hit equal to the amount of guaranteed money left on his contract. It would have no effect on the 2013 salary cap or beyond.
The Jets have a good chance at being 5-11 anyway. After next season all 3 (Sanchez, Ryan and Holmes) will be gone.
If the Jets go 5-11 that will be the begining of the changes. Tanny and otehrs most likely are out the door as well.
You just totally forgot about back to back AFCCG's I guess right? Why do you want Ryan out of here after one bad year? The guy deserves AT LEAST one more year.
Lol at the garbage in this thread 5-11 and Rex fired? Oh no we went 8-8 the sky is falling we're doomed!!!!!!!11. New yorkers really can be such a sorry reactionary fan base.
Cutting Holmes before his February roster bonus and signing the draft picks would put us at the cap or over. That is without resigning a single one of our 18 free agents. It isn't happening, the only way to get rid of Holmes is a terrible deal where Tanny bends over the table and sends Holmes and something else to a team way under the cap for basically nothing.
