Denver and Tim Tebow send their regards along with a reminder of the 13 points they held the Jets to.
I doubt they would have won the first game. The offense was a mess and the defense would eventually let score. Even if the Jets managed to pull one out, the Ravens would have stomped us.
As the 6th seed, we would have gone to New England. THEY would have stomped us instead of the Ravens.
Imo Houston is a much better team right now than the Jets. And with Schaub back next year, they will be better next year as well. With Foster and Johnson, and that Matt kid on D? AYFKM?
Everybody who has commented on the firing has said the decision was made before the last game. I think Schotty having Sanchez drop back 60+ times against the Giants was the final straw. He couldn't do anything about the fact that the pass protection was weak other than to alter the calls to minimize the issue and instead he aggravated it.
Something would have had to happen differently for the Jets to have won that game, or any of the final 3. Schottenheimer lost any control he had after the Giants game, agreed, but there is no criteria offered for the conditions upon which the Jets make in into the post season. Maybe the locker room wasn't as fractured? Maybe Sanchez and Santonio aren't at each other's throats? Maybe Schotty doesn't call close to 70 passing plays against a Giants team that was trying to hand them the game? Whatever the method, during both of the past 2 offseasons the Jets have dug deep into their bag of tricks, and also flipped a switch in the post season and won 4 road playoff games after stumbling into the playoffs. Appearing in post season games tends to give mediocre coaches longer half-lives. Look at Herman Edwards and Paul Hackett.
it doesnt FCKN matter the jets are the champs of the OFF SEASON as seen here you tube type in jets coleware
