Would you guys think it'd be okay to spend a third or fourth round draft pick on this guy? Walterfootball.com had him mocked in the third round to us.
Since everyone is saying Sanchez could use some competition, I've seen this gunslinger from Oklahoma St make big throws all year.

He might not be a top prospect being 28 years old, but he should be more NFL ready then other quarterbacks. I think he can serve on our team as a solid back up that will get taken seriously and ready to step in and play.
    What do you guys say?

We need a vet QB to compete with Sanchez who can also help him out.

Sanchez has proved that hes not the smartest qb out there, and although hes a little old for having a mentor, he definitely could use veteran guidance

Been on the Weeden bandwagon from the beginning. I was seeing him as more of a 4th round pick only because I think too many people will be scared off by his age. But yeah, might take him a couple years to get comfortable, but by then, he's just 30. You wouldn't get him as a long long term solution, but the guy could be a productive player for the Jets for a number of years.

Unless Sanchez shows drastic improvement, the Jets brass should be counting down the days till they're rid of his contract. Bringing in a guy like Campbell or Henne isn't going to help Sanchez. Or the Jets for that matter. If Sanchez goes down, I'm fine with considering the season shot. I don't want to spend any substantial amount of money on a backup QB. If he's going to improve, he's Weeden is a solid NFL talent who's just old. I don't see the harm in spending a late round pick on that.

I'd be willing to bet Weeden gets over drafted big time , most likely to either to Dolphins , Redskins, or Seattle.

We don't need to spend any picks this year on a QB.

BINGO. There is no way this franchise should draft a 28 year old scheme QB in any round of this year's draft.
