http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/mock-drafts Besides the DeCastro pick(And maybe the Perry/Merclius picks), these picks are reaches for the Jets especially David Wilson at 16 LOL.
Those mock drafts are all over the place. Charles Davis has us taking Nick Perry way ahead of Mercilus and Upshaw. Elliot Harrison has Kendall Wright ahead of Floyd and Jeffery. Has us taking Barron, which I would freak out about. When we could of had Upshaw, Jeffery, Floyd, Mercilus. Andrew Reuter has us taking DeCastro, which I would be very ok with, but we would be passing on Richardson, Perry, Floyd, Mercilus. I don't know if you could pass on Richardson if he dropped that far. Bucky Brooks has us taking David Wilson? Seriously? That mock is all sorts of stupid to me.
David Wilson in the 2nd would make me happy, but in the 1st? Really? The only RB that we should take in the 1st is Richardson. End of story. Im not sure how these guys get paid to right this stuff up... most of it is garbage.
I really hope that the Jets do not pick Barron. There is no way he is a first round pick. He would be a complete waste of the 16th pick. I would even call him a complete waste of the 32nd pick if the Jets were picking last in the 1st round. The Jets will have the opportunity to draft at least one of Mercilus, Upshaw, Jeffrey, Floyd, DeCastro, Richardson and a few others who are all better players than Barron.
I agree with Richardson being the only guy but Wilson is a really awesome runner he is physical and has a good burst and a nice second gear. I dont know where he will go but he could go in the first round
Wilson is my 2nd ranked RB this year... I really think he would give our backfield a huge burst, but like you said, he could go in the 1st. If he has a really good combine like I expect him to, he could push into the late 1st. If we got him in the 2nd though, I would be pretty damn happy- he reminds me of a more explosive Ray Rice kind of (can run between the tackles and outside exceptionally well, can catch the ball, can create a game changing play and has 1st round potential but probably will go somewhere in the 30-50 range).
Its not the first time I've seen Perry ahead of Upshaw and Mercilus and probly not that last. Not saying its going to end up taht way, but perhaps the gap is a bit close between them all than many think. A lot of this seems silly. Too bad Im to lazy to make a draft time capsule to look back on some of the stuff that is out there now.
Only TR is deservedly going in the top half of the draft out of the running backs. Iv seen a few mock drafts lately who say we will take a rb at 16 other than Richardson. If this happens i will be devastated!!
I almost laughed off my chair at Trent Richardson going to KC, have they ever heard of Jamaal Charles?
Who is coming of a major injury? that Jamal Charles. The pick is something of a luxury pick but its not out of the question
I've seen quite a few that has us taking James (Ore, RB) in the second. That pick wouldn't hurt my feelings any.
