the media seems to be banging the Drum for the Peyton - jet move with brain washing hypnosis persistence - Am i the only one, or does this make you feel a little more optimistic that they can convince peyton and the rest of the manning family to make this move? not only are they bombarding archie manning - but they brought it up with eli and he seemed to have positive feelings towards it (without directly lobbying) dosent indy have 28 Mil locked up with peyton and they need to free that up for next year? I know alot of people dont agree but - i want peyton.. i will be very happy if this goes through
I'll pass on 36 year old Peyton Manning coming off neck fusion surgery. Run the football, play good defense.
Oh god another Peyton thread... March needs to get here already so Peyton can hurry up and sign here.
I don't like to get into the whole getting Peyton vs. keeping Sanchez argument. I think there are significant pro's and con's associated with each decision. I do think I would rather see Peyton manage a run first oriented team than Mark. If he's put in a system where he doesn't have to throw 40+ passes a game, he would surely benefit from defenses playing the run over the pass. I suppose Mark does have great ability in selling the play action. Either way, I hope some significant change happens at the QB position- whether it's Mark making that next step (which people have been saying he needs to do for years) or whether we bring in Peyton.
I am just glad that this needs to be resolved sooner than later. We can get the bubbling expectations and massive depression out of the way in time for the actual offseason activities.
We did both of those things this year and still sucked. We need a real QB, and Peyton is one of the best QBs of all-time. Until we get a real QB, we'll be chasing New England in the standings and competing for the wild card spot every season. I want the Jets to start dominating the competition, not just barely skating by.
Yeah for the people saying not to get Peyton, what if he ends up on the Dolphins? Id rather have him on the Jets just so he doesnt end up their. That would kill any hope of the Jets even making the playoffs with Manning and Brady in the same division.
If we could get Peyton AND keep Sanchez id support the move a bajillionity percent. But the fact is if Peytons in that means Sanchez is out, and we basically have to draft a new QB immediately to groom behind Peyton for 2-3 years from now. Maybe its me but id be pretty upset if we had to blow our first rounder on a new QB this year
if sanchez, who moves better than peyton got killed behind this shit oline, Just imagine how bad peyton would get killed.
I heard Francessa say that the Dolphin owner said he would send Manning a blank check... I dont think Manning will take the biggest contract, I believe he wants to win rings and take less. Who knows tho,
We did not run the football like we did in 09 and 10. Pretty obvious I thought. I'm as down on Sanchez as anyone. I think he'll get better, though, as you look at guys like Brees, Eli and even Tom Brady (his first 3 seasons he was nowhere near the QB he is right now). QBs progress slowly, we're gonna have to be patient. Yes, I realize it's been 3 years.
Tho manning with Marshall absolutely terrifies me. I mean on Revis Island hell be fine, but vs the other teams wow, youre talking 1500 + yard season, easily be a favorite of mine to break some heavy duty recieving records. I dont know how often you get a top 4 wr paired up with a top 4 qb, and I mean a wr who became elite without having an elite QB to carry him already (ie Welker)
The Dolphin owner didn't say any such thing. That would be tampering, as Manning is still under contract with another team. Fatty was just talking out his ass, as usual.
Manning to Miami would be an absolute nightmare scenario of the Jets, we have trouble beating Miami with Moore or Henne at QB
fortunately the Jets are NOT likely to repeat the Brett Favre mistake of 2008, thank God of course that move was fueled by Kellen Clemens as the potential starting quarterback whereas in 2012 the Jets have a franchise quarterback already on the roster and getting ready for his best season ever
I guess I can understand wanting to support the guy who is currently the starter, but you must be one of the last people on earth who still looks at what we have at QB and consider it franchise quarterback material. I second jerseyjet...let us know what it is you're smoking.
