Perhaps I'm mistaken on this but it seems like his guarantees are just reporters asking him if he thinks he'll win the superbowl, then he says yes, we're going to win it. Ravens message boards last year. People were pretty much talking about how Rex had taken the Jets to 2 AFCCG in back-to-back years. How Rex had "balls" and Harbaugh was a gigantic pussy, etc. I mean, all fan bases are fickle. Look at the Giants and their '07 run. Fans basically wanted to run Eli and Coughlin out of town, and then the unthinkable happened. We finished 8-8 and still had a very good chance to make the Playoffs. We'll see what happens next year.
Let's backup and look at this team from a distance. Two AFCCG & then 8-8. If this was another team, I think we'd be laughing at their fans for panicking so much. The Jets have work to do but they're not rebuilding a 1-15 team going into next season.
