I think that says a lot about Mehta. Usually, these stories are littered with quotes about how the media is the bad guy, taking quotes out of context, etc. Looks like you got a good beat writer.
I wish someone would leak his list of "anonymous players" and cut every single one of them. They destroyed this team, Rex is a complete lame duck, too busy sniffing feet to be bothered to realize his team is an absolute mess.
As I wrote in another one of these threads, even if everything is true the article is misleading. It gives us neither the scope nor the intensity of the anti-Sanchez sentiment; we don't know the questions asked or whether the people speaking up have a financial or PR interest to put the blame on Mark. It does show fairly clearly that this locker room has been allowed to act in an unprofessional manner, or in Rexspeak, allowed to "be themselves". Though that isn't as delightfully refreshing as it once was, it isn't necessarily a sign of the apocalypse.
Totally agree with this post. Not yellow journalism, and if Brad can't tell he totally comes across as wanting to shoot the messenger for a message he does not like, he seems to have very little self awareness.
I'm amazed that Rex hasn't said a damn thing about any of this. What the hell do you think Sanchez is thinking? "My own HC does not even come out to support me".
That is a good point. I think it would be a lot worse if this was Mangold, Keller, Moore saying this than if it is Holmes/Plax. We don't know who said what and how many. We brought guys on with character issues and we had to know if things went wrong this would happend especially with Rex's media policy. There is a difference if it is the "bad" character guys vs the guys that are "good" character or are highly respected by the team. One example of a misleading question would be "Do you believe your team is better with a healthy Peyton Manning" Answer: "Of course, if Peyton is out there, we need to look at him" Another way to get the same answer would be "What do you think of Mark as your starting QB?" Answer: "We need to go out and get Peyton if available." In my opinion, the second would be a lot of worse than the first.
Rex can easily show his support to Sanchez without going to the media. He can speak to him in private. In addition, if Rex were to say anything about whats going on, It would blow up even more. Rex is playing it smart. The media can't write about you if you give them no material. He's using this time to think about the offseason and what needs to be changed.
I still count myself a Ryan supporter, but at this point Rex's public statements have zero cred, so what's the point? Ftr Rex totally lost me as far as believing anything he says from his post game talk after the Eagles game. It probably should have been sooner.
We could really change things by having a great draft,, We really need a lot of help at the safty position,, All season long the TE's were killing us,, no one to stop them.. Then a speedy WR and a DE. Lets look for some O-linemen in FA and start this ball rolling,, Winning games fixes all bad blood. First we just need the coaching dust to settle. This can be fixed I know it can. Go Jets.
absolutely 100 percent made up baloney. And now Manishgate has become MORE about a "reporter" faking his sources that about what he wrote about in the first place.
Let me ask you a question, not to answer, just to think about. What if Mehta's sources are Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, Brian Schottenheimer, Bart Scott and Tim Hasslebeck? What would you make of his story at that point?
who are you going to believe? rex and tanny, or your own eyes? of course guys who give you an honest eval of a player who is percieved as being coddled by the owner and gm are not going to use their names. would you call out the department manager at work if he was related to the owner? - only if you really want to collect those 99 weeks of unemployment benefits.
Do you really consider a bunch of quotes by sources who refuse to reveal themselves as 'your own eyes'? Or is it your fan-affected view of a quarterback trying to throw passes with a stinger in his shoulder what you were talking about. Objective opinions are always at a surplus here.
