Still can't figure out why anyone is still defending Schottenheimer. The guy has literally done nothing good for the offense in his entire OC career, never mind that he went even further than that and fucked it up. The only thing he has going for him is his father's name and that he's well liked personally. But where are the results? Fucking give it up already
Interesting that Schitty is now getting only OC interviews, Alabama, Jacksonville, I think there was a 3rd too.
He does not care that the offense kept going 3-and-out all fucking game. In the end unless the offense throws game-sealing pick 6's (like Pennington did once - but then it was the defense who couldn't stop the nose bleed at that time.) it is the fault of the defense that Jets lost.
After that playoff game against the Gmen, any OC is probably looking like an upgrade for ATL. Can't believe you cannot convert at least 1/3 4th and shorts.
Well geez man, when you tell the other team that you will go for it every 4th and short, and then you take your power back off the field and run QB sneaks... what do you expect? That was so stupid.
looks like schotty threw mark under the bus in his atlanta interview http://atlanta.sbnation.com/atlanta...o-falcons-rumor-begins-with-joe-theisman-slip
Why would it have been low?? If your boss wasn't satisfied with your efforts at work, do you think he would have allowed you to stay while you were looking for something else in order to help you find another job? Maybe a boss who was a friend but who had to fire you might have done that, but otherwise, no one would do that. Helping you find another job isn't their worry or responsibility. Getting results at the job is. Why is a football team any different? It's a business. Schotty failed miserably. He is incompetent. He should have never been extended in the first place, but they screwed up. They would have hated it, but they should have manned up, fired him and paid him what they agreed to, or at least worked out a buyout deal with him. That would have been the honorable thing to do and it should have happened the day after the season ended for the Jets. Schotty would have gotten his money and been able to say that it was his idea or mutual, and the Jets would have sent a strong message that they were looking to get better.
Yes. I necro-ed this thread. In memoriam! ------------------------------------------- If anything, we will not see: 1. those fucking triple reverses that end up as a fumble or 10 yard loss. YES! 2. No more 5 yard buttonhook pattern by 4 WRs on 3rd and 7! 3. I pray to the dear lord - please no more 3rd and goal shotgun.
I can't believe somebody other than Schott will be calling the plays. Six years of Schott, some good moments, many more frustrating ones. I love how we play STL this year. RR's D vs Schott's O, one more time.
My big problem with this is that even if that fucker Schittforbrains is gone, Rex & Tanny still deny Sanchez was run into the ground by this asshole and don't trust him at all because of it. So instead of hiring an OC that's going to build on his QB abilities, they bring in Sparano to run the ball instead and then trade for Tebow to light a fire under his ass. What the fuck, can we please just give Sanchez a year with a decent OC that's going to trust him with the fucking ball. Schittforbrains is gone because of public pressure, not because management suddenly realized he was a piece of shit. They probably still think he should be OC
Lets stop thinking about what used to frustrate us about the Schotty O and focus on what will inevitably frustrate us about Sparano's. 1. Tim mother fucking Tebow trotting onto the field just as the offense got in a rythm. 2. 3 straight runs up the middle inside the 5 with a field goal after they don't work.
