Do you even comprehend how transparent your act is? It is like watching a seventh grade class enact Beowulf.
You are forgetting that football requires a team to win games. All I see on this forum is giving Sanchez credit for all the wins and the team blame for all the losses (at least from the homers, many of the more level headed people have been banned for trolling the homers). But when other young QB's lose it is their fault, and when they win it is because they have a better team around them than Mark Sanchez. Mark Sanchez won 4 playoff games. Matt Ryan lost 3 playoff games. So it wasn't the Jets winning and the Falcons losing, it was Sanchez winning and Ryan losing?
Ok I'm not making excuses for not running the ball a little more. But it's funny how revisionist history works. Before that game it seemed like the focus was to pass on their weak pass defense. Now that we saw that Sanchez couldn't do it people complained we didn't run enough. I bet if they ran the ball 40 times and kept getting stuffed, we would hear complaints about not passing enough. Like I continue to say, jets fans don't know what they want. Because like I said before they tried to exploit the giants bad pass defense and failed. That's the bottom-line.
Why is it that Sanchez gets credit for "4 playoff road wins" (which the Jets won in spite of him, and not because of him), but when he goes 0-3 down the stretch to miss the layoffs, it's the fault of Shotty, the OLine and the defense?
You are remembering wrong if you think the Jets ever won "in spite" of Sanchez. Sanchez never put his team in a hole in the playoffs. You could say the Jets carried Sanchez in the Cincy game, but he still made plays. He played okay in the chargers game, pretty good in the 1st and 2nd indy game, great in NE, and pretty good in Pitt. In spite of implies Sanchez is throwing 2 picks a game and throwing pick sixes which he hasn't done in the playoffs.
The fact that he played like dogshit to end the season doesn't erase this: That's why people are willing to give him a chance.
Those games are old news, occuring 1 and 2 years ago. With the Jets needing to win 1 out of the fianl 3 games this year to make the playoffs, here is Sanchez's MOST RECENT performances: PHL: 15/26, 57.6%, 150 yards, 5.7 YPA, 2 TD, 2 INT, 67.7 rating NYG: 30/59, 50.8%, 225 yards, 3.8 YPA, 1 TD, 2 INT, 51.8 rating MIA: 21/32, 65.6%, 135 yards, 4.2 YPA, 2 TD, 3 INT, 56.1 rating That's an average QB rating of 58.5 in his LAST 3 games with the playoffs on the line.
Sanchez Fans are the masters of excuse making and throwing the whole rest of the team under the bus. Oh well. He'll be back next year no doubt, hopefully with a real backup and maybe even some competition in camp. With any luck he won't crap the bed like he did this past season. I think there are other parts of the team to talk about, and reading endless excuses for his lack of development is tedious. I think I will focus on other parts of the team as much as I can.
Yes, he was MUCH better in 2010 despite lesser #s. People don't realize how good he actually was in 2010 which makes 2011 more disappointing that he took a step back but so many factors worked against him in 2011.
If those games are old news, why do you keep telling us about Patriots championships that happened a decade ago? And did Sanchez have a stringer in his throwing arm 1 and 2 years ago? If injuries don't matter, can I bash Tom Brady for selfishly sitting out the 2008 season?
Championships are a team accomplishment. The thread is about one individual's performance. No, he didn't have a "supposed" stinger 1 and 2 years ago, but he did have a top 5 defense and a top 5 running game.
the point I was responding to was you saying that the Jets won those games despite Sanchez, not because of Sanchez. i was pointing out that in fact Sanchez played well in those games.
I don't disagree with that, he did play well. He minimized turn-overs and hit some key passes to keep drives going. I still maintain that the Jets defense and running game were more critical to the Jets winning just for the fact they kept Sanchez out of situations (coming from far behind, 3rd and long situations, etc.) that he does not perform well.
not 1 yeara go he didn't, the top 5 D was 2 years ago, the top 5 run game was 2 years ago. Our D was inconsistent in year 2 and the run game was mediocre most of 2010.
down 24-0 in the title game at Pitt, he got us back to 24-19 w/ no run game and mediocre D but the D couldn't stop Pitt from getting 2 1st downs to end the game.
This is the troubling part. The good news is, of those 23 turnovers in 2009, 20 of them were ints. In 2011, Sanchez "only" had 18 interceptions. He fumbled ten times, the same as in 2009, and two more than in 2010, but somehow he managed to lose 8 of the 10. Sanchez Fumble Stats: Fumble/Fumble Lost 2009:10/3 2010:8/1 2011:10/8 Sanchez is tied for 6th in fumbles, but leads the league in fumbles lost. I think it's partially bad luck this season. Very few of the other QB's end up losing 80% of their fumbles. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/b...NFL&year=season_2011&sort=48&timeframe=ToDate Don't get me wrong, he still turns the ball over way too much, but I think the fumbles are fixable. With some offensive line help, and a little more coaching pressure on Mark to protect the ball, I think he can cut down on the fumbles.
