Anybody who thinks the Jets should dump Sanchez doesn't know shit about football and is not a Jets fan.

AND HERE'S YOUR LITMUS TEST: If you were cheering your ass of last year when Sanchez outdueled Brady in the divisional game, you don't have the right to say shit about him now.

SANCHEZ is in the league 3 years, and he goes to the final four his first two. And when the big lights were on, he showed up throwing 9 TDs against 2 INTs.

HE SHOWED UP...UNLIKE THIS RUMOR OF A DEFENSE THAT GAVE AWAY BOTH AFC TITLE GAMES.

THEN THIS YEAR, Fat and Fatter decide the team will be better without the professional, and clutch services of Mr. 3rd down, Jerrico Cotchery, and the explosive talents of Brad Smith. They also come to the conclusion that a younger, faster, stronger, and hungrier Braylon Edwards should be replaced by an older, slower, already ringed Burress.
    As for Derrick Mason...please.

Then, the HC sits by while the OC:

--Fails to stretch the field and condemns the QB to throwing high-risk, low-reward passes to the flat that bounce of the hands of this chain gang resulting in a half dozen of Sanchez's picks

--Allows defenses to roll all 11 guys within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage the entire year and jump every 6-yard button hook resulting in another half dozen picks

--Never utilizes the opportunity to draw pass interference by throwing long jump ball throws down the sideline to burress...they did it 4 times the whole year...the net result? 1 completion...2 PIs...and one incompletion. 75% positive result, but that apparently that was not enough to impress either the OC or HC into doing it more

Of course, the biggest sin was pass protection. Oh sure, the Jets suffer bad luck at Right Tackle, but then to allow this swinging door of a replacement to continue to stay on is pure negligence. No surprise that his teammates are bashing Mark now...they allowed him to get bashed the entire you. He took many brutal and illegal hits, most of which were not called. And still came back on the field.

I would love to have seen Brady, Brees, Rodgers, or either Manning playing behind our 2 turnstyle offensive tackles (yes, you sucked Ferguson) and throwing to our dumbass receivers and butterfingered tight end.

I just love hearing about how a 36-year old guy who can't move and is one hit away from a broken neck is going to deliver us to the promised land--NOT WITH THIS BUNCH.

That kind of talk reminds of a few years ago when the Jets dumped #10 and picked up #4....and we all remember how that turned out as the Fins celebrated the division title in our own building.

HEY JETS BRAIN TRUST (LOL), TRY THIS FOR A CHANGE:

Tannenbaum, keep all your draft picks and DRAFT A FUCKING PASSRUSHER
Ryan, keep your mouth shut and COACH THE FUCKING TEAM (BOTH SIDES)
Johnson, WAKE THE FUCK UP AND TAKE CONTROL OF THIS CIRCUS

just remember without that defense sanchez doesn't get near the playoffs much less a good run in them...he was third after d and running game...he just didnt have to screw up and make a good play now and then.

that said, he has some talent and shouldnt be stigmatized as the biggest problem on the team right now...thats ur coach but he has too many people fooled

    Your quarterback...

Just kidding. Mark has shown enough to get at least one more year. If they provide him with a solid O-line and solid running game, yet he is just "average", I'll be over him.

Hopefully, he plays huge next year.

Your Litmus test is dumb. Most Jets fans were cheering for the Jets team, the team Sanchez plays for. Are they supposed to cheer for Brady because he's a better QB? No. You cheer for the players you have because they are the only ones available to do the job. It doesn't make them the best or mean you can't dislike them.

Jay Cutler is exactly why you don't want your QB engaging in any contact whatsoever. a very promising season for the Bears died really quick because he felt he had to prove his toughness by trying to tackle.

I wish him the best of luck, he hasn't had it easy this year and I really hope he bounces back. I have never been a big Sanchez guy at all, in fact I questioned the draft choice from day 1, but the bullshit that you have to put up with playing in New York is just stupid. But then of course all the media will anoint him with their short memories when he succeeds. Can't stand it.

What? He was trying to prevent a 4th quarter pick 6. His train of thought was not wanting the player to score. Was he supposed to let just let the player run past him?

Pretty sure when he went for the tackle he wasn't thinking he had to prove his toughness. WTF?

I'm not accusing you of this, but questioning Jay Cutler's toughness is a joke. The amount of hits that he took playing Mike Martz's retarded 7-step-drop offense is insane.

I was cheering my ass off when Jumbo Elliot caught a score in the Miracle at the Meadowlands, does that mean that I don't have the right to say that he shouldn't be our #1 receiver?

In 2011 you could argue we wouldn't have made the playoffs if Sanchez didn't lead those 3-4 comebacks. I agree with you that he has talent and isn't the biggest problem. I disagree Rex is the biggest problem. Our biggest problems were our lack of depth on the oline, lack of a pass rusher, and lack of an athletic safety. It was a total team failure this year from GM to coaching to execution. New coaching on the offense and a successful FA and draft and we could be right in the playoffs with Rex.

Rex's biggest weakness is not getting involved in the offense and his biggest strength is overachieving with our defense.

Are you kidding me? I can't route for the Jets because I don't like Sanchez?

Do you realize that there is no guarantee he will be back next year? Chad Henne is Sparano's guy, and his contract was 4/3.5 million. He is a free agent, and is an "potential" upgrade to our QB that is due ~14.5 million this year. Of that 14.5 million only ~5 million is guaranteed, and so that leaves ~9.5 million savings if we trade/cut him. Say Henne gets 5 million (absurd) that is a savings of ~4.5 million at that position.

So you are the business (penny pincher) of the NY Jets. You just hire an offensive coordinator, and are looking at a passing coach. Your offensive coordinator likes his old QB, and thinks he is an upgrade. Would you want to save 4.5 million on Henne, or pay Sanchez?

That is the true question at hand. Remember this is a business.

Let me ask it this way. Is Sanchez $4.5 million better than Henne?

Or this way, Could the overall team use $4.5 million to improve?

    My answers:

    Save
    No
    Yes

If we're posting gifs, how about the tackle Sanchez made off his last INT at Miami. Bad throw of course, but give him credit for running the guy down and making an athletic play. With a couple of breaks that could have been a season saving tackle, like the one Rothlisberger made in the playoffs at Indy a few years ago off the Jerome Bettis fumble.

Ok. With all due respect, Rodgers didn't have the all-pro pretection you claim he played behind. In fact, he was sacked more than Sanchez was. (1 more in fact.) Now the reason can vary, depending on the weapon one has vs the weapon one doesn't have (Jets don't have WRs to stretch the field after all) but you must admit Rodgers is a lot more QB savvy than Sanchez - that's a given.

Great fucking post, Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Let's re-group, Fix the holes that we need to and go at this shit again. I think Sanchez has the ability and he's proved it his first 2 years. Now 1 year of us barely missing the play offs and he's all of a sudden Glenn Foley Jr. Everybody chill out and take a deep breath and...GOOSFRABA.

Every game I root for Sanchez because I'm a Jets fan. Dam right I rooted for him in the playoffs last year and every game this year. That doesn't mean he gets a free pass when he has poor perfromances week after week.

I hope he becomes a great QB right now he is one of the weakest links on a very mediocre football team.
