    From thejetsblog.com
I hate the idea of trading away Sanchez' favorite target 2 years in a row, but it seems like that may be a realistic option at this point.

Disagree. Keller has improved each year, both as a passing threat and a blocker. He need to bulk up a bit and continue his improved blocking abilities and he'll be fine in the running game.

His blocking has improved from non-existent to real shitty. I would actually be surprised if they didn't try and trade him considering the type of player/offense they're looking to run.

IF we trade Keller, we have NO chance but to go out and sign/draft/trade for at LEAST two TEs.

So who knows maybe it could work out. Personally Id be a fan of getting rid of Keller for some Hybrid TEs anyway, who are dual threats. If we can get picks for him, all the more icing on the cake

We actually need a power forward at TE.

We better not get rid of another player that Sanchez is comfortable with. We saw what happened this year when we did that. Sparano / Haley need to adjust to the players we have here - especially when they are as talented as Keller is.

  8. Funny. Keller has never actually been used as an H-back and Schottenheimer considers himself a coryell purist. Seems to me this article is severely flawed.

Keller SHOULD BE USED as a H-back..but Schotty's system had him routinely playing in line TE.

Only issue with DK is hes due for a new contract next year, IF we dont plan on giving him some good $$$, then trading him is by far the most logical thing to do

He doesn't fit the mold at all though. When Sparano wants to run a two TE run heavy formation for a good portion the game, Keller doesn't fit. I suppose they could use him as a 3rd and long TE.

This may be a shot in the dark, but is there any chance we could spin Keller to the Pats for Gronkowski?

I think that dude could turn into a beast. Obviously we'd need to include a draft pick or two...

Marcedes Lewis, Joel Dressen and Shockey seem like they might fit the mold?

this is the exact point i tried to make last week

if the jets dont plan on re-signing him next year then they need to try and deal him now while his value is as high as its ever been ... plus, i dont think it will be too big of a fall off to cumberland anyway

if they can get a third for him they should pull the trigger

He definitely should not be an in line blocker in a run heavy team. A good coordinator will draw up formations that utilize his skills. He should probably be used more like Aaron Hernandez as a large WR that can create mismatches.

Why the hell would the Pats trade the best TE in the NFL to the Jets?

Could turn into a beast???? He already is one.

call me crazy, but how about we trade mulligan and mcelroy to Green Bay for Aaron Rodgers? Would probably throw in a 5th rounder or something too.

Well he was probably thinkin it might be a package deal.

Like Gronk + Brady for McElory Mulligan and Keller and a 6th round pick.

Right now, Tony Gonzalez is the best TE is the NFL.

Gronk COULD be the best in the right system.

Would probably need to be a first and a second rounder for NE to even think about trading Gronkowski at this time. At that price, it wouldn't be worth in for the Jets. They have other, more imporatnat holes to fill (RT, Pass rusher or two, safety).
