Hue Jackson fired, Jets should hire him for OC

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by InRevisWeTrust, Jan 10, 2012.

  1. I'm sure if he ends up with the Jets we'll be calling for his head by week 5. But I think he's an energy guy with innovative schemes that would work well with this offensive group.

We get a huge benefit out of bringing in a new offensive staff at this point. They'll be very focused and very high energy this off-season setting things up for the first time, and they'll be looking at the problems with new eyes and new approaches to dealing with them.

If the Jets had begun really using Sanchez mobility after the problems on the line became apparent things might have turned out very differently last season. Schotty couldn't do that because his system is not a rollout and move the pocket kind of system. His answer to the problems was to put Sanchez in the shotgun more often and that was self-defeating because it took away the play-action that is Sanchez's best quality.

Hue Jackson for OC. Get rid of Schotty and make it happen.

Jackson has bounced around a lot. His best work was probably coaching the receivers in cincy when ocho and houzmanzadeh were at their best. He did a decent job in Oakland considering they didn't have much other than McFadden and he also has experience as a qb coach. Rex and him were on the 08 ravens staff so there is that connection there as well. I think he could be a good fit for this team if it happens.

I would have preferred Hue to Sparano

Why don't you go back to last season and read what Cowboys fans were saying about Wade Phillips? Most fans are idiots.

Hey man, I would prefer Hue over Sparano/Haley, but it seems like Rex and Tanny are more intrigued by the latter. Maybe they know something we don't. We can only hope.

I hope they know much more than we know. I trust those 2.

What is it Hue Jackson had going for him that made him a viable OC candidate? I can't see it on his resume.

I'll go on record and say I preferred him as well.

Maybe he has shots at another HC gig (I'm sure he'll at least get some "Rooney Rule" interviews") and they wanted to get everything settled asap, and wait around?

Glad it was not him, just a blow head who leads with no discipline.

Hue is a backstabber, don't want him on the team.
