The fans of teams that had bad seasons or went 1-and-done in the playoffs (with the exception of Detroit/Stafford) are LAUGHING when I post about how we want to run Schotty and maybe even Sanchez out of town. A bunch of people told me that 1 AFC CG would be worth 3 years of staying out of the doghouse, even if the team missed the playoffs each year. Guys can't believe that -- unlike the Yankees with their recent winning tradition -- that Jets fans who haven't won the SB since 1969 could be so dismissive of 2 back-to-back AFCG's even after our 'bad' year this year. One guy told me he'd throw in 1 of his Waffle House franchises if we'd swap Matt Ryan for Sanchez !!!! LOL !!!!
Ask him if he ever watched a Jets game...I would bet the answer is no. And then take him up on that trade and setyourselfdown and have a double order of pecaaaaannn waffles.
There's no doubt our fan base is overly cynical after decades of torture. I think the 2012 NYJ will be good, even with Schitty back (don't want him back tho).
We have overreacted, we went 8-8 and choked away a bunch of games. Ill tell you one thing, as bad as 8-8 was, I would not trade up the position the Falcons and Steelers fans are going through right now. Id rather go 8-8 then being EMBARASSED like that in the playoffs. If I was a Steelers of Falcons fan I wouldnt show my face all offseason.
Funny you mention the Lions, my friend who is a Lions fan couldn't believe the disposition of Jet fans when he moved out here. Kind of puts it in perspective. I think it's New York, people wanted Tom Coughlin fired until yesterday, some still bitch about Eli any time he loses a game. They fucking ran Joe Torre out of town, what more do you need to know?
Look, did anyone else take notice that ALL FOUR teams threw the ball down the field with ease yesterday? We couldn't complete ANYTHING downfield this year. That's why I'm upset.
Yeah theirs already people saying trading for Carmelo was a mistake, they should kept the meidocre pieces instead of getting the SuperStar. The Media here is a bunch of idiots.
Your QB needs to be able to stand up for a few seconds while guys get downfield, that's part of the problem.
Braylons 80 YD TD in the AFC Championship... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS1lhXKwbgw
The reason why we are upset is that after 40 years, the jets were so close to winning it all twice and now this year it felt like you went backwards. I agree that we all overreacted. I think the broncos game really put in perspective that anything can happen. I still believe in Rex and Sanchez. I think now is the time where big changes need to be made, specifically schotty. I am bummed out not to be watching the Jets, but I can't be too upset. To see my team go to back to back AFC Championship games was truly something special.

Did you notice their WR's had 2-3 yards on the CB's or safeties each time ??? Sanchez is trying to hit Joe McKnight along the sideline with a perfect-pass that has no room for error. Our WR's can do anything in betwen the hash marks.
Lastly... I found a very interesting paper from University of Chicago, which explained the mechanism of choking. To make the long story short, people with high working memory is more prone to choking than people with low working memory, once mental pressure starts to kick in - meaning, otherwise better qualified people would exhibit much poorer results in high-pressure situation where the desire to excel is maximal. If interested, read along: http://hpl.uchicago.edu/Publications/papers_reprints/Psychological Science2005.pdf Of course, the job as the coach would come down to alleviating the mental pressure of your QB effectively.
Gee....I guess play-action fakes work when you are #1 in rushing at 170 yards/game, huh ? Oh another thing....Edwards had 3 steps on the DB. And then outran him. Anybody see Holmes or Burress do that this year ???
One of the things that we surely forgot to do this year: Rollouts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0isjT9xk2c On a second thought, with gigantic disaster that is Wayne Hunter blocking the right side, the roll outs to the right is doomed to failure even before the start. Maybe Jets didn't forget it after all. DAMN.
