Remember that time when the Jets had a "wash up" DC named Bill Belichick?

Who would you rather have than Sparano or Haley? Some coach you never heard of? Then you'll be bitching that the Jets signed a nobody. Stop watching sports and take up knitting.

This move makes sense. The Jets are working on this and that's why you hear nothing about a Callahan extension. We all new Mike T. is the best closer in the business.

Sparano for OL coach if Callahan leaves. BTW, anybody know if Callahan was PO'd this year that the Jets didn't extend him or let him interview for an OC job ? Wonder if it rubbed off on his work habits....

Haley ??? WR coach, definitely.....he'll bring Holmes in line or punch the SOB out.

Speaking of Haley......any chance Larry Fitzgerald has an out in his contract ? How about Sanchez throwing to LF ?

Think LF hasn't thought about that ???

Sparano would fit on Jersey Shore, him and the Situation the only 2 that wear sunglass in the dark.

Sparano's fist pumping enthusiasm for field goals is equally matched by Rex's love of safeties. Sounds perfect...

I am sure he has woken up in the middle of the night screaming and his wife has said "what's wrong Larry?" and he replies "thank god, it was just a nightmare, I dreamt I was traded to the Jets and had Sanchez throwing to me and every ball was 5 yds behind me. And I was buck naked too"

    From ROTOWORLD.COM
    Twitter.com/BrianCoz

Updating an earlier item, the New York Post reports the Jets are considering Tony Sparano and Dirk Koetter as potential replacements "if" OC Brian Schottenheimer leaves.
"If" since Schottenheimer appears to be all but gone. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier Saturday that Sparano and Todd Haley were considering making themselves a package deal as offensive coordinators, with Sparano managing the run game and Haley handling the passing attack. One or both would be an improvement on Schottenheimer, who went with a number of questionable game-plans in 2011.

As long as Sparano gets green colored shades for his glasses, he's ok in my book.

    Sparano looks like Sargeant Slaughter.

I don't mind it but who ultimately calls the plays? I could see a power struggle happening.

On a second thought, I wouldn't mind this as much.

If they don't show any improvement from the abomination that is Schottenheimer, then at least we can have double thread of 'Bash this fucker.'

If they do show improvement, what am I going to gripe at?

Maybe they alternate plays :). At least it would guarantee a balanced attack.

I posted this on another thread, I think he would be a great fit. He's a proven winner and knows how to play in New York. Maybe he has herpes or something because it seems he can't catch on anywhere.

Ryan had a problem with Fassel. If you read his book he did not appreciate that Fassel wasn't preparing for his coaching job in Baltimore as he was trying to get himself a head coaching job. He ultimately was fired for it, so I couldn't see Rex bringing him in to be the coach knowing that that happened.
