The Sparano Shoruken! His clapping after a FG fires up his squad, so we can use that intensity on the team. Likewise if Haley gets hired, we can always use this after a game vs the Patriots.
I like how everyone wants Schotty gone. Here, we have 2 solid OC candidates, and nobody wants them. That's funny. Fans never like offensive coordinators no matter what.
I'd take either of these guys. I just want a new play-caller. Time to move on after six years of Schott and not a single top 10 O.
I would like sporano as the o-line coach if they would clean house on the offensive coaching side of things, but I don't know if I like the idea of him as an OC. What is so great about him as an OC candidate? I'd much rather get an experienced QB coach from a team with an explosive offense than a failure of a HC who never had a good offense.
Sparano as OL coach -> All right. I can live with that Haley as WR coach -> All right. I can live with that too. Sparano AND Haley as OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR? -> I will kick my dog that I don't even own.
Isn't this team already divided enough between offense vs. defense? Do we really need a further divide between the passing half of the offense and the running half?
This would be so Jets-like. Rather than hire one good offensive coordinator, they hire two medocre ones and try to make up for it with volume.
I changed the thread title because I can't find anything anywhere showing that the Jets actually have interest in this combo. I highly doubt they would come out and say they are either given that Schotty is still employed with them.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I'm really getting the feeling if Shotty isn't hired as a head coach (why would he be), he comes back to the Jets as the OC. Rex and Shotty would have to do a ridiculous amount of squirming/backtracking, and I don't know if they are willing to eat 2 years on that stupid extension.
