I'll take my chances with someone from the GB staff that KNOWS offense and develops good QB's. Matt Flynn could turn out to be a solid QB. He certainly cannot be any worse than Schitty.
Its hard to tell but I honestly believe great coaches can turn an average QB into an elite one. Look at Rodgers, a hell of alot teams would have drafted him if they knew he would be this good, but I think the great coaching made him great. Look at Alex smith, the guy was a bum coming into this season and has completely turned it around with good coaching. Sanchez hasnt had that much support, I think if we get the correct coaches in here he be another Alex Smith story.
Its weird , i was looking at Alex Smiths stats and didnt see a single game where he had 64 drop backs. Hell he had 11 games with 30 or fewer pass attempts. On Sanchez's games with 30 or fewer attempts 4 games with a qb rating over 90 (several over 100) One was an 85.8 And the sole bad one was against philly, in which case our teams incompetence completely buried us. Sanchez really wasnt the problem this year, the playcalling was
Thx, The sad part is I posted that shit last year when Sanchez's "demeanor" was in question. It kills me what the coaches are doing to this kid....
Even if Rodgers was meant to be great and what not, Tom Clements still knows what its like to win a Championship. He knows how to coach a team that is a championship team. He knows what it takes in practice- religiously rehearse each play so that come game time, you don't look like the Jets offense. You have to give Tom Clements credit for developing Rodgers even if he was meant to be a great player from the start. I would LOVE this signing. It would show that A) Tanny and Rex actually realize the shit show on offense and B) there is hope for the future IMO, this move (or pretty much any change at the OC position) would start the offseason of strong and provide hope for Jets fans after a disappointing season. Him and Joe Lombardi are atop my wish list.
Have to agree. They certainly ain't putting him in a position to succeed. And I believe that's where the mixed opinions on his ability comes from. I still wish he'd throw the ball better.
I expect to see more changes to the offensive coaching staff in the coming months. Wondering about Shotty not being fired yet got me thinking. Aside from not wanting to completly ruin his chances at becoming a HC and getting the Jets out of his remaining contract. Is it possible that they are considering guys from teams in the playoffs like Clements? If so they wouldnt be able to interview them yet anyway so there is no rush to fire Shotty, in terms of finding the replacement. What do ya'll think>
^^^ That is a good point. This makes the Jags think highly of Schitty, gives us time to wait for the Packers. Plus Callahan can be a back up option if we can't sign Clements. Personally I wouldn't mind Cally, but would prefer Clements.
I hinted at this about a week ago, my feeling was if Schotty was going to be fired Cavanaugh had to go as well. Hopefully this is true and we just need to wait for the other shoe to drop with the OC.
You can interview guys during the playoffs now, that's why there's a fuss about Jay Gruden not talking to the Jags.
I did not see the link or article-------that said why would this guy leave Gbay--to come here ? It can't be a lateral move makes no sense  I have a feeling that this is a shot in the dark-----I mean would any of you leave Gbay to come here ? Ps as of rite now Shotty is still here
One coach we shouldn't fire, give his a true RT and a little depth and we will be fine. Injuries and lack of a RT were are problems not the OL coach.
uh...Cavanaugh, not Callahan.... Anyway he is a scapegoat, he didn't teach Sanchez to keep his eyes glued on the receiver he will throw to or jump around like he has fire ants in his jock...
