Boomer really did lite into the Jets braintrust in that article. I guess he's a bandwaggoner too even though he played for the Jets.
Boomer is just the latest who observes what most do about the Jets. You get the wrong impression here, since too many over optimists still see Sanchez as a promising Qb. He's not. Most people elsewhere recognize he's not the least bit promising. I don't always agree with Boomer. I don't always agree with anyone. I don't always think that the conventional wisdom is right, either. But there's plenty of good reasons for Jet fans, other observers, even Jet Haters, to be down on Sanchez. We shouldn't be surprised. Where's all the talk about how he rises to the occasion? It's pretty quiet after he turns the ball over three times apiece in the last three games of the season, when any one as a win would have probably gotten the Jets into the playoffs. Where's all the talk about expecting improvement in year three, that quite reasonably was what most expected this past off season? Dead as a doornail after watching Sanchez led the team to five losses in their last eight games. I expect the Sanchez Fans to dump on Boomer, but that sort of ad hominem belies the fact that Sanchez's defenders have become increasingly scarce. I am afraid they will become even more scarce once next season begins.
Some people feel they have the luxury of saying things about people from afar. Calling Sanchez a scared chihuahua to his face would never happen. He would get tossed around like Jim Rome.
eh might have to give that one to boomer got the size, old man strength, and is the enforcer on his rec hockey team.
Boomer is 3 inches taller and probably 60 pounds heavier (on a good day) than Mark Sanchez. GQ models don't toss anyone around.
the titlle is so misleading, he was discussing him the last few games and the whole team looked like that. I hate the deceiving headlines.
Boomer's been a bitch lately when it comes to the Jets. It's not that what he's saying is wrong, but it's just how he's saying it, plus going up to Boston to say that crap?
Dude, I bet you would've been saying the same BS about Eli after his third year (by the way, they won the Super Bowl the next year) or Drew Brees, who was benched in his third year. Incidentally, guess who was Brees's coach in SD before he left for the Saints and, eventually, the Hall of Fame. You guessed it, Schottenheimer. Check the stats man. Sanchez is improving. It's the Oline and the coaching that hasn't.
Wayne Hunter defies the laws of physics, he's like one of those video game power up tokens - when a pass rusher flies by him, they gain speed they otherwise would not have had.
That brings up an interesting point, why didn't Boomer say he was like a miniature poodle or a mini pincher? Maybe the title of this thread should read "Boomer Esiason Makes Racial Slur Toward Jets Quarterback."
Boomer has seen it, done it and I respect his opinion more than a bunch of armchair GM's on this site. Open your eyes people....or are you going to be satisfied with 8-8 for the next few years.....I was a believer but the way things went down in the last 3 games and even further back I've lost much confidence in Sanchez.
