Bingo, Kerley will have a very good career. Great late round sleeper draft pick.

Where to begin here...online is not the same, if you think there hasnt been a huge drop off in talent at the right tackle position you must not watch the games. You also left out the receivers. 2 new receivers one of which hadnt played a snap in 2 years, the other was what 37?

Our GM made some bad decisions this off season which has cost this team. And wtf has Leon Washington done since he left? He's gone bro, let it go.

I saw one SF game this year so I really can't tell you why Edwards production was so bad. Since you made excuses for Holmes I will make some for Exwards though.
    1) Alex smith blows harder than Sanchez
    2) Edwards has a knee injury
    3) new system

Braylon fits our system better than Holmes:
    1) Gets separation
    2) Killer blocks on the outside (Burress and Edwards would have been the nastiest tandum of blocking receivers. They both lay wood on opposing defense)

Braylon played significantly better in year 2. He is a better team player. He is tougher and always made plays on the field and was involved with his offense. Braylon made strides to be a better player and the improvements were witnessed on the field. Holmes has been significantly worse in year 2 for all reasons previously mentioned.

Since we don't have an elite qb Holmes had to adapt and overcome. Holmes instead quit. At one time I thought this was one of the greatest trades the jets ever made. Now I wish we had a 5th round draft pick back for him. Holmes has failed and let his team and fans down. I hope we dump his ass to Seattle.

I wouldn't read into this either way until the heading coaching jobs are filled. If a guy is trying to get a head coaching job firing him from his coordinator position isn't good form by the franchise. It would certainly discourage others from coming here in a coordinators role.

Being a head coach doesn't involve designing and calling plays. That is Schotty's weakness. Maybe he'll be great with a new team. He just sucked balls here.

The 37 yr old WR you speak of was shipped off to Houston so that move had no consequence on this year's team.

He was replaced by a young late round rookie who had a great year in Kerley so can't blame the WR's there. Maybe you should watch the games.

Stop making excuses for Schotty and Sanchez. They are the two main reasons this team sucked this year. The best oline in the league wouldn't have made Sanchez a serviceable QB this year. They can't fix all o the throwing and head issues he has.

That's what I'm saying. Say this is to boost his stock, if he doesn't get the job, we have to be stuck with him? This franchise is slowly becoming a joke all over again. Play like a Jet means absolutely nothing anymore. All it means is you come up short and make excuses instead of fixing the problem. I refuse to watch this idiot for another year.

WR separation means nothing if you have a QB who can't throw the ball to you.

That argument has never cut it with me. These are guys who have been able to create separation their entire football lives and that's why they're pro WR's. They didn't all of a sudden forget how to play their position. Even if they can't get separation throw the ball to their back shoulder and let them make a play. Sanchez can't make a back shoulder throw to save his life.

You can't make enough excuses up to protect the awful QB that Sanchez is. He is a mediocre pro QB who will never be above average in this league. He's a fraud who completely regressed in the 3rd year of the same system with the same coaching staff.

Santonio Holmes has way more value than Braylon at this point in his career.

Its very discerning to hear they would want him back. I mean come on now. Money or not a change should be made. Is it really the company line that he is a great coach and they would love him back.

Money or not this guy has to go.

You make some valid arguments. I don't know why Holmes isn't targeted more. I think that is more on schotty than on Sanchez.

Holmes can make the highlight reel no doubt. He just can do the intangibles and dirty work his team requires. He doesnt fit well in our system. He was named Captain and honored that roll by quitting. The guy has two options. Fight hard and prove himself to ny jets team, fans and football or take a hike and do the same for someone else.

I believe Holmes has glimpses of excellence. I don't believe he has strong will, desire or fight. I also think he is physically a pussy.

I do agree that Holmes can be a pussy physically. I remember criticizing his awful blocking on multiple running plays that came his way this year.

Holmes has just had zero production, minimal YAC and his physical and mental toughness hasn't met expectations.

Captain who maybe turning into more of a cancer.

I'm not making excuses for anyone. There is enough crap posted on this board regarding whether or not Sanchez and shotty suck. I'm just aware enough to realize there are more issues going on with this team than the qb and oc. And why was mason shipped out? I believe it was for his attitude, it has been an issue with players on this team all year. And about Sanchez, he had a solid online and chemistry with his wrs last year, was he not serviceable? So what about Washington?

he had no problem getting Edwards the ball last year when he got separation, so that point is moot

There's no indication that it's hurting the team in any way.
