Will Brian be fired today? 1/2/12

Is there any compensation if a team takes say, Brian Schottenhiemer (please) and makes him their headcoach?

Agreed, even if they move on from Schotty, it will be months before it happens. Unfortunately.

I think you've summarized exactly what we're going to hear. There's just no way Schottenheimer gets fired today. Even if there is the remotest possibility of him getting a head coaching gig, it makes no sense to fire him until that process has played out.

 

Only insofar as Woody wouldn't have to pay him off.

 

If Norv Turner gets fired today then it's a good possibility Schotty will be gone by the end of the day.

 

Oh please...please please please Jesus, Jehova, Buddha, and Vishnu make them fire Schotty...please please please

 

I think that's about right. They're going to hold out with hope that someone actually hires him as a head coach as long as they can. Once their guy is available though, they'll have to let him and the money he's owed under contract go.

 

Um...Schotty was here before Rex and he still sucked.

 

Good post. Thats a win/win for them. Keep him as long as possible hoping he walks out on his own contract

I think this should be expected right now. If you fire him, he won't get any HC job. Tanny and Rex seem to be pretty loyal to their staff. I think they were just saving face, and hoping he gets the job. If he strikes out there, then I think he'll be let go. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think Schotty gets fired, but he'll take a job elsewhere, which is just as good in my book. As long as he ain't here.

 

Where is this rumor from?

 

If we aren't actively in the hunt and shotty does leave that's not exactly a win-win. If we actually want to replace any of our coaches the process starts today and the whole league will know it. If he gets a job in a few weeks and we wait we are just that much behind the other teams looking to fill coaching vacancies.

This is more like a lose lose for the Jets.

 

But, if we have a guy we really want waiting to be let go/fired and we fire Schotty and the guy we want isn't there we are left with nothing. I would hope we have backup plans, but if we don't like anyone out there, or nobody is showing interest firiging Schotty to bring in someone we don't like wouldn't be too smart
