He said they are going to wait if Schotty gets hired as HC before making decision. If he is hired, they don't need to pay the rest of his contract since he is leaving.
I think the Jets will hope he gets a job elsewhere. I'm not really expecting an OC change, but I'm hopeful...
There has to be some positive news here to appease the fans and detract from the poor season. My guess would be bye bye Schotty with lots of talk of new beginnings and restructuring.
it will most likely just be a load of "must pull together", "need time to reassess and evaluate", "see who wants to be a jet and who doesnt" yadda yadda yadda nonsense but we can at least hope for something good (if the friggin thing ever starts)

Rex is so protective of his assistants there is no way he wld fire schotty and harm his chances of becoming an HC - Cannizzaro and what if he doesnt get the Jacksonville job?
