@ Home: Cardinals, Texans, Colts, Niners, Raiders On the road: Jags; Seahawks; Rams; Titans and Steelers Looks better than this years schedule at least. edit: i would love to get another shot at the raiders after this years horrible game against them - worst game of the season for me before today - we so should have had that one won by a country mile
This team is a few good moves and better preparation away from years of success. 2012 seems far away.
we will be great, all we need is half an offensive line, new multi purpose TE, new wide receiver(s), new safeties, an elite pass rusher, a new punter, a new kicker and a vastly improved performance by our QB - Superbowl JETS 2012!!!
We were at Seattle in 2008 and hosted Arizona in 2008. Switch them around. We will be visiting Arizona next year and Seattle is coming to NY.
The schedule is very easy next year, but you have to win games that you are a prohibitive favorite, and this year the Jets were incapable of that.
The Jets schedule is so easy next year. If Manning leaves the Colts, thats basically 8 free wins, with 2 hard games against the Steelers and Niners. Manning wins 14 games with that schedule.
Of the games listed, the Jets should only be "prohibitive favorites" against the Colts, Rams and maybe the Jaguars. They should be "prohibitive underdogs" to the 49ers, Texans (they'll have Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and Mario Williams back) and Steelers. All those other teams are pretty much the same level as the Jets: mediocre. It's a middle of the pack schedule as befits a middle of the pack team like the Jets. It would be a little weird if an 8-8 team was given a brutal schedule.
Right now, fans of the AFC South and NFC West teams are looking at next year's schedule and saying, "Cool, we get to play the Jets!".
As they should with arguably the worst projected starting qb in the NFL. Too bad the Jets will make changes, might have Manning at QB, and a new OC.. You make only the last 2 changes and this team wins 12 games next year.
Until the Colts commit to that 35 mil for next year, Manning to the Jets is a very real possibility. No way are they drafting Luck to sit him for 4-5 years, and Manning is not going to be a back-up in this league, ever. So, either Manning is going to be a free agent, or Luck is not going to be a Colt.
And the Jets are such an incredible team that Manning won't hesitate to choose them? If the 49ers, for example, decide to explore adding Manning as a short-term bridge to their quarterback of the future, Colin Kaepernick, who do you think he chooses? There will be a number of teams interested in a free agent Manning...the Jets aren't going to be close to the top of the list for most desired landing spot.
Not only are there more desirable landing spots, but all three Mannings, Peyton, Eli, and Archie, hate Rex Ryan. It's obvious every time they are asked about him.
