the guy cant make chicken salad out of chicken shit. we have: a retard OC no offensive line, including the worst RT in the league no running game overpaid, selfish, under performing WRs who cant catch or get open. what the fuck is sanchez supposed to do? Get a new OC, a capable backup to motivate sanchez to mplay better, and fix the others holes we have and next year will be a better season.
People can say whatever they want about Santonio getting open, it's a load of shit. This year proved that when opposing defenses key in, he's susceptible to totally being taken out of the game. Said it when we signed him, forget him being a total malcontent, ability-wise he's not a number 1 wideout. Number 1 receivers are guys like Megatron, AJ, Fitz, A.J. Green, Steve Smith...Tone isn't on their level. Not to mention the FACT that the Jets had quite possibly the worst starting tackle in football in Wayne Hunter. The line was shit. D'Brick had a terrible year for the pro bowl standards that we've come to expect. Sanchez needs to grow, and there are a ton of things that he needs to improve on, but anyone willing to get rid of a THIRD YEAR quarterback that's had success just doesn't know the history of how qb's normally develop in this league. Not everyone is going to be an instantaneous success like Peyton or Brady.
Flynn with the garbage o line that's the packers feasted against a lions team that wanted to win played better.
Take the O-Line out and Sanchez still sucks. His decisions on the field and his awareness along with his inability to read defenses is what makes him look bad. He's no leader.
Economics and logic dictate that both Sanchez and Rex Ryan will be here through the end of the 2013 season.
Thats one way of looking at it. The other, and probably the correct one, is that Sanchez is the chicken shit that Schotty could not make chicken salad out of. The line was as good as most other teams. Mangold was solid. Slauson was solid. Moore was solid. Brick was shaky at times, but not awful. Only really bad player was Hunter. Greene was solid. LT was solid. And as for wr's, Keller was okay, Kerley was okay and I give the benefit of the doubt to Plax and Tone. Both guys were SB MVP's who winning teams relied on, and now they are chicken shit? Really? The problem is Sanchez. There really are no if's. and's or but's about it. Get rid of him and the team instantly gets better. The way the guy plays, you begin to wonder what the fuck Pete Carroll was thinking in letting him play college football..
Peyton didnt exactly come in the league and light it up. the year they won the SB, he didnt light it up either.
He gets entirely too much criticism. He is not the cause of everything wrong with the offense, let alone the entire team. This was an entire team failure, not just sanchez. WRs who cant get separation was a big part. He lost confidence in them and that was it. He played 9 on 11 or 10 on 11 all game and you expect him to throw for 300 yards? be realistic here. HEs not perfect, but hes not the only problem either.
Totally agree. My only criticism of Sanchez is the same as last year. He needs to improve his accuracy, especially on short passes. There is no excuse for blowing some of the short throws he misses. On top of that he needs to cut down on turnovers, especially the fumbles. Those things should be fixable but its the same stuff every season.
Are you kidding me? This whole fucking board is filled with HATERS and criticize this guy for every little fucking thing. He scratches his ass with the right hand, people bitch that he should have done it with his left. I'm a Mark Sanchez guy. He has A hefty amount of work to do, there is no doubt. There is no doubt he makes dumb mistakes and it costs us sometimes, BUT there are many factors in that.
Sanchez is what he is: a very serviceable and very potentially very good NFL starting QB. However he needs a strong running game to be able to play-action effectively, he needs to be moved out of the pocket to shorten the throw to the sidelines, and he should not be attempting more then 20 passes a game. If the Jets can't find a way to run the ball enough to take the onus off of Sanchez, then the simply need to continue to run it. Running the football is all about effort and desire; if you can't run it it is because you don't want to. What the Jets tried to do with Sanchez this year is something that he can maybe handle in year 5, but not in year 3. There is no way he should be attempting 60 passes over the course of 3 games, let alone one. At this point in his career he can't carry a team, but that doesn't mean that he won't be able to at some point in the future.
Yes he has guts and moxie..sometimes.... But his accuracy is incredibly ridiculous. He can't complete his check downs and he can never get the ball to a wide reciever. There are qbs over 70% while Sanchez sits in the mid 50s for THREE years!! He is not a good qb.
