Does he have a shot? Could he be the guy to challenge Sanchez next season? I dont know much about him...help me out.
He was drafted as QB depth late. He's shown some poise in limited action in the preseason, I thought. Then he got hurt. He was a good QB in a big name program. I mean, he was drafted as depth, so I wouldn't expect much. I'm sure they're not looking at him to challenge for the gig. Stranger things have happened, though.
i think mcelroy can become a starter.i wouldn't mind seeing an open competition with him and sanchez in t.c.
McElroy can't throw 40 yds downfield. I wouldn't be hanging our QB hopes on him solely.Look for him to be 3rd QB in 2012.
Sanchez has to feel a threat to his status. He's human, no threat no since of urgency. Just like the girl some of you dated since high school, you didnt commit until you thought she was gonna dump you for a new guy. I think David Gerard or Vince Young have to be considered.
Guy is not a starter. If the only option at QB next August is Sanchez or McElroy, that will be a major, major, problem..
O boy...here we go. And we wonder why we only have 1 SB to our name. We get caught up in a guy playing a meaningless preseason game and ignore the fact that his arm is worse than Pennington's
Bunch of actual NFL scouts don't think he can be a starter either. There's a reason every team passed on him 5 times.
Not saying he is the Savior, but in case you forgot,,,,,,all those same so called "experts" also passed up on a kid named BRADY six times as well
Sure. But even Brady didn't force his way into the starting job - he caught a break via injury. If you look at the top QBs, it strongly favors high round picks. Just going off passer ratings, of the top 10 guys, there are six first round picks, one second round pick, one third rounder, and only two guys beyond that (Brady and Romo).
Sanchez will not face any meaningful competition in camp in 2012, the job of Jets QB is not an open one. McElroy would not be able to offer up meaningful competition, even if it was an open job. His top-end potential is NFL #2.
