Rex has a LOT to answer for. But I doubt if he'll be made to answer until things don't improve next year.
A fair point, but it's safe to say Rex was way off base with that assessment/hope. And if Holmes did take himself out of the game then how can the Jets keep him?
Find me all the plays where Holmes consistently got open and created space and I might buy that. I think Holmes has been bad, and a quickly-collapsing pocket failed to give him enough time to make it any better.
Bullshit. He is getting paid 55 million dollars to carry himself as a pro and make this team better. He was made a captain, which holds more weight then just catching a football and being productive. He is immature and selfish. Anyone that quits on this team doesn't deserve to be here. Period. Schotty, Rex, Sanchez, whatever.. They all have to be blamed to a certain degree. They all deserve so level of blame, but at least none of those guys quit on their team. All of those guys have tried to do everything they could to help their team, even in failure, they at least tried their hearts out to be a super bowl contender. Holmes hasn't done that. Fuck him.
His terrible QB. In all fairness to Holmes, he used to play for a SuperBowl winning QB in Big Ben, so it must be hard on him playing for The Walking Turnover.
It doesn't shine a good light on Rex, certainly. But, Holmes is a professional and an adult; ultimately, this falls mostly on him. He's an asshole. No further proof is needed than his TD celebration in Philly and pulling himself from today's game. I'd be furious if I weren't numb.
LMFAO at everyone bashing Holmes. Someone needed to be pissed about today's game. I cant believe he was targeted 1 time. This guy is clutch in MOST situations and has won games exactly like this time and time again. I hope it was Sanchez he was screaming at because he maybe looked in his direction 3 times all game and threw to him once. GARBAGE!
I made this point in another thread. Now, clearly Holmes has not/will not grow up and act like an adult, so he needs to be stripped of the 'C'. If Rex goes into next season with all the evidence of what a cock-bag Holmes is and lets him continue in that role then Rex is fair game for criticism...
Agree, and I am not too impressed with Sanchez captain ability today either. I am really concerned about Rex Ryans ability to lead this team, his judgement is questionable and sometimes amusingly anectotal, ie when he tries to build a dominant franchise to challenge pats but raves like a child about his pick conner?!
Holmes in the presser saying he didn't take himself out. Turner tapped him on the shoulder and told him he replaced him. Basically Holmes saying the coaches took him out.
Id be more pissed if Holmes didn't do that, it shows he cares and hates his Qb. Either Sanchez or Holmes aren't back next year. Hope its Sanchez.
he said he said Holmes saying Turner told him to come out Rex said coaches didn't take him out...smh.
I think there were a lot of players pissed today, but only one that took himself out of the game, the others soldiered on. Didn't see revis, who is 10x the player Holmes is screaming at anybody or Sanchez.
