Who said he was going to be top 5 next year? I think you have too many conversations going on in your head to let you converse adequately with others. Lithium helps with that.
Lol we don't need him to be a top 5 QB we just need consistency from the WHOLE TEAM to succeed. There's been a ton of turnovers on Special teams and Defense not getting stops when they're supposed to. Heck Dan Marino never won a chip in his whole career and he was an amazing QB, why? because its a TEAM game.
If I am dumb what does that say about the rest of this forum? (I won the Most Knowledgable Award at this forum for 2010 for what that is worth.) Lol. Sanchez was adequate against the Colts. He did make a big pass to Edwards late in the game but he was not great. He was very good against NE. Great? Nah. We don't need to start arguing "very good" vs "great".
QBs who have lost consecutive championship games as starters in the Super Bowl era- Don Meredith Daryle Lamonica Bill Nelsen John Brodie Roger Staubach Ken Stabler James Harris Dan Pastorini Dan Fouts Danny White Bernie Kosar Steve Young Donovan McNabb Mark Sanchez
He's too shallow and ignorant to understand that, let alone acknowledge this. He's is quickly becoming the worst poster on this website.
Who on here has labeled Sanchez as a franchise qb currently or will jump to top 5 next year? I have gone on and on with you in many different threads but you seem to not read Most people on here are not saying Sanchez will automatically jump next year. We want to see how he can do with a new OC before we finally pass judgement on whether to resign him or cut him. We want to give Sanchez some consistency at the rb and wr position before we finally pass judgement. We want to give him RT. We want to see if it is the OC who has had 3 QBS who have all gone on to play better without, or if its the QB who is very inconsistent. If anything, your arguments are the ridiculous ones because you bring up dropped picks but not dropped catches. You bring up how Sanchez doesn't win games, yet hes the only problem when we lose. You say how Sanchez hasn't played elite in the playoffs when it is generally agreed he was never the reason we lost in the playoffs. Please bring up where the majority of this board is saying Sanchez will be become top 5 next year or that he is currently a franchise QB.
alright i looked over the stats and he didn't have as an impressive game against the colts as i thought. it is still an incredible accomplishment for a qb to 4 wins on the road in his first 2 years.
of course it is. but that doesnt make him able to read defenses or work well under pressure or put the ball in the proper location 80% of the time. i dont think anyone is taking away from his accomplishments, they are just saying that him playing pretty good in 4 playoff games doesnt make you forget that he has some serious flaws. some think he will overcome those. others dont.
The flaws Sanchez has are the same flaws that most good young QB's have. Some of them work it out and others don't. Some of them never get the opportunity to work it out because the support isn't there. David Carr was a damn good young QB, probably better than Troy Aikman. Aikman got lots of help. Carr didn't. That's the difference between them.
Yup, I get a ton of shit from Giants fans for this, but the numbers speak for themselves. 9th in QB rating 10th in QB rating + 7th in passing TD 15th in comp % Top 5 in INT (as he is every season) Having a career year (which doesn't say much)? Yes. Having a good season? Yes. Is he an elite QB? No, sorry. The body of work speaks for itself.
I still think his ceiling is Phil Simms-level and that is not a bad thing. He still has some big flaws. He is skittish and mentally loses it for a quarter or two if he takes some hits. He also needs better coaching. Part of the reason why Sanchez played for a team that was able to win four road playoff games? The team had poor QB play during the '09 regular season and it had erratic QB play in the '10 regular season. Those were key reasons why the Jets had to play on the road in the playoffs. We want the team and the QB to excel in the regular season so they do not have to impress people by winning on the road in the postseason.
hahahahaha most knowledgable award, you didnt need to say that but alright i can see your point about sanchez not being great, but from my perspective, he got the job done in the playoffs, when he needed to make a big play he made it, like the colts one, or the chargers game
Well good luck...Shotty will be back next year. No other team is going to pick him up as head coach and he's Rex's man. Oh well!!!
Stafford wouldn't be as good with out Calvin Johnson just like Sanchez aint as good with Edwards around he needs that deep threat again. That guy who is gonna drag two Patriot players in the endzone with him in the playoffs
Im assuming managment thought Buress was gonna be Edwards on steroids but they forgot thefact he hadn't caught a football in two years and was 34 years old id rather of had Terrell Owens then Buress this year
Well, i understand that, you probably consider "great" a qb that really carries the team on his back, that's fine. hopefully sanchez will play "great" this season and lead this team to the superbowl after gaining a miraculous playoff spot in week 17 hahahah
Mason also had a ton of support from Rex the day he was traded. I would also assume it would be joint decision, not just Rex, on what coaches stay and go. Schotty doesnt even have to leave, he just needs his playcalling duties stripped.
