That might change for Florida around the 6th or 7th of January...the lastest model storm showed even a bit of snow for a northern Florida county. OK..HOT OFF THE PRESSES. Keep you eyes open for around the 6th or 7th of January for a monster storm. Will it be snow...rain? Ice? Not sure...but the models have now had two straight runs of megastorm. Will keep you updated. EDIT: Which would be around the same dates as Jaywaynes favorite blizzard of all time...a storm which all storms will always be measured as far as Im concerned...the Blizzard of 96. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_blizzard_of_1996
You motherfuck. What happened to same weather pattern til mid January? You just said that like 5 minutes ago. Aand now we got a monster comin?
Because I had given up jonnnn. I had had it with checking everyday. I posted that and then the next day poof..there it was!! Dont worry Jonn. Its actually in the less than 50 percent range...but if it happens...
Just tell him you have digestive issues. You can't check the radar when you are pooping in a planter in your neighbor's back yard.
Hey Brook. Yes..that time frame. Still very very very up in the air. What you have is a major cold front..and a storm brewing in the southern states that might run up the coast. Cold air being pulled all the way down into Florida. Regardless if this plays out or not...just after this time frame is when the long term models become very active from the middle of January to the end of the month..with the potential of 2 or 3 major storms. Still, all low percentage stuff that needs things to go right. Been that type of winter. I will check the 1am models to see if this storm is still there.
And this storm just disappears off the maps. Incredible . Never seen anything like this. It forms but well out to sea. Feel sorry for our skiing friends and resorts here in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast. Rough start.
Nice! Im takin the wife to see Wicked on teh 6th and I have to fly to San Francisco on the 9th. I dont need your bullshit storm yet
We will not get a major snowstorm this year, I garantee it. Ice storms, yep. No snow. I finally bought my first snowblower. It ain't gonna snow.
You and me both Tbird. I've only started mine once since I brought it and wifey is already starting with the BS.
Ok..the first real legit snowstorm may occur this weekend for the metro area. In fact, this may have to be dealt with for the Giants game in a big way. Models showing the worst of the storm to be from sunrise Sunday to late afternoon. First time all models agree that there will be a storm. Model runs have now been back to back. The only question now is the track. A more westerly track would mean rain to snow for our area with heavy snow in the northeast PA/lower and central NY state. Same said for interior Conn. Mass. Storm track sets up more east...then all of northern Jersey possible LI enter the picture. Regardless, the pattern is changing a bit...and there are now a few more on tap for January and the beginning of February. Amounts vary with the latest Euro model saying a pretty decent dumping all day Sunday because of the much slower movement of the storm. Will keep you updated. As of now...starts very late Saturday..ends Sunday afternoon.
Sometimes you have to admit when you are having a rough start to the year....Im the anti rex. I admit my faults. This storm has been pushed back to Tuesday/Wednesday. This is what happens when you suck...and right now..I do. Promise a strong comeback.
