    1st Round Pick:
    Brandon Jenkins, DE/OLB, Florida State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.67.
    Projected Round : 1.

    Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 250.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
    Projected Round : 1-2.

2nd Round Pick: (Alabama plays as close to our defense as you get in college and would help either of these guys to step in and possibly start from day one.)
    Mark Barron, SS, Alabama
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 215.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.61.
    Projected Round : 2.

    Robert Lester, S, Alabama
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 210.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.51.
    Projected Round : 2.

Note: (If both safeties are off the board by our 2nd pick, I would take one of the RTs to ensure we get one.)

    3rd Round Pick:
    Zebrie Sanders, RT, Florida State
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 306.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.16.
    Projected Round : 2-3.

    Levy Adcock, RT, Oklahoma State
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 318.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.14.
    Projected Round : 2-3.

    4th Round Pick:
    Jarius Wright, WR, Arkansas
    Height: 5-10. Weight: 180.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.35.
    Projected Round : 3-4

    Cliff Harris, CB/PR, Oregon
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 180.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
    Projected Round : 3.
Been in trouble, stock dropping, but we need a 4th CB and a PR guy. Once projected as high as 2-3 round might make it to the 4th round now.

    5th Round Pick:
    Asa Jackson, CB, Cal Poly
    Height: 5-10. Weight: 188.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.35.
    Projected Round : 5.

    6th Round Pick:
    J.B. Shugarts, RT/G, Ohio State
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 298.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
    Projected Round : 5-6
We need more depth and he couldn’t be worse than Ducasse.

    7th Round Pick:
    Quinn Sharp, K, Oklahoma State
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 189.
    Projected Round : 6-FA.
Sharp was a Third-Team All-American selection this season. He has made 20-of-23 field goals. Sharp also served as the punter and averaged 47 yards per punt. He has a strong and accurate leg. Sharp could be drafted as a punter or kicker in 2012.

No we can't get all these guys, but I was just pointing out posible players that would help this team and might be available in each round when we pick.

Keeping that is mind, I limited myself to one or two players per round to choose from.

We don't need another 5'10 receiver and I'd rather take Lester over Barron if we got the opportunity since I like Jimmy for 1 more year, solid looking mock draft though I'd love to be able to get Nick Perry.

Doubtful that sanders lasts until the mid third.

If we draft 2 corners and a kicker taking up 3 of our 7 picks (nearly half)....well....yeah...

The most pressing need on this team is a WR. The offense sucks because Burress can't get open nad there is no legitimate 3rd or 4th receiver.

I would say RT and Safety, and arguably OLB are more pressing needs... WR is a must draft and yes plax cant get open, but giving Sanchez more than 2 seconds is a must.

Jarius Wright has top speed and was originally given a full ride as a track star, which he turned down to play football. He would give us the speed we need and he has hands too.

I would only want one CB, but I listed two as sleeper/steals for the mid-rounds.

We NEEED a RT and I want a long starting draftee that played RT in college. I don't want any converted LT or G switching. RT & LT are two different animals and I want someone who has a legit shot at coming in and starting, but without wasting a 1st round pick. Both guys I listed fit the bill, but might require using a 2nd rounder to get them. Once Alabama’s RT decided to stay in college these two became top tier RT candidates.

What would be the perfect scenario would be magically coming away with both Mark Barron & Robert Lester. They played with each other on a top defense which closely matches ours, and would make for a smooth transition. Not to mention they are the best safety tandem in all of college.

Lastly, every draft needs its splash player and either Brandon Jenkins or Nick Perry would excite the fans and give the team a much needed pass rushing boost.

Side note: We need an improved kicking game and Quinn Sharp could not only challenge for either position, but possible serve a duel roll. If you are going to take a shot at a player, why not in the seventh round. A kicker will always be the best shot at grabbing a starter in the 7th round.

Agree'd Sign Journey men. Give a Try to the guy that we grabbed waiver wire from the broncos. Rebuild the Trenches of this team please! OLB RT HIGH PICKS PLEASE.... SS/WR BPA at the time... We can only win with a push in the trench thats what wins games.....
    Totally agree

IMO, Sanders is a guy that could move up into the late first round depending on his combine and pre draft workouts. I can assure you that there is no way he lasts until the mid third round.

    Key point:

I feel our biggest needs are OLD/DE, Safety and RT, but not in that order.

RT is the biggest need, but drafting a true RT in the 1st round is crazy, grabbing one in the 2nd is the best deal, unless you pick Ducasse.

Our second biggest need I would say is Safety, but then again that would not be the best bang for the buck.

Use the 1st rounder for a guy who will make the splash plays and excite fans.

This draft has a few good safeties and their will still be a starter in the 2nd round. This draft also has a lot of good offensive linemen and finding a true RT in the 3rd round could be done if one slips. Both RT candidates I picked are true RTs and they might still be there in round three, because they are not projected as LT candidates and aren't as beefy/strong as some top Guard candidates for smashing up the middle or fighting off a NT.

Some player charts may rank him near the top five tackles in the draft, but others rank him closer to the 15th. Add in the better guards and centers and he pans out in my book as a top 15 linemen, then add in 5-6 linemen drafted each round and he could be there for us in the third.

Same stats go for Adcock who many believe is a better prospect.

Won't object to take one of them in the 2nd round, but feel one may be there sitting in the third. Would rather spend our second round pick on one of the Alabama Safeties.

Why not just sign the kicker as a FA

A FA kicker would cost at least four times a draft pick in the 7th round and now telling if he would be any better.

FA brought us our current kicks, not much to cheer about.

Plain and simple no rookie kicker can come in and do what Nick Folk can. Folk has actually been clutch for us in the final seconds, don't forget about that, and early on in the season he was one of the few kickers who didn't miss a field goal. He's an average kicker but he's WAY better than any rookie.

Maybe, maybe not, but the kid I was suggesting to spend a 7th rounder on can also average 47 yard punts. Maybe Folk would beat him out, but to spend a 7th on a possible starting kicker who also may be a starting punter is a cheap price.

CB is not a need, but I want someone better at #4 CB, just incase there is an injury.

When looking for a #4 or #5 CB you'll be lucky to use anything higher than a 4-5 round pick. By time you get there in the draft, you are picking at scraps or looking at kids with issues, you might want to take a chance on. One of my picks has trouble issues and the second played against lower quality teams at a small college.

Cliff Harris, fast CB with better than average ability, but been in trouble and stock dropping. Nine months ago he would have been a projected 2-3 round pick and may yet be, but I think he would be a steal in the 4th round.

Asa Jackson played at small Cal Poly, but he is faster than any other CB in the draft and would be great as a special teams player and #4 CB. Might last until the 5th rounds and if he's there it would be great value.

Call me crazy but we are trying to replace Damian Woody who was a former first round pick. Whether we keep going with Sanchez or find a replacement we are going to need to improve both our pass protection and our rushing attack if we are going to get back to the AFC Championship game.

Use the first round pick to fill the hole and save the second rounder to fix one of our safety positions. Many pro bowl safeties have been drafted in round two but the first round is where we found Mangold.

Barron will never last until the second because of how shitty the safety class is. Furthermore, if you feel that way about Alabama (which isn't necessarily true btw), why not be all about Courtney Upshaw?

I'd love to see the Jets get Sharp in the 7th, but suspect he might go in the 6th. I'd even take him there. He had close to 60 touchbacks this year, has a very strong and accurate leg and is also the punter. In limited viewings, he appears to be akin to the Saints Thomas Morestead who is a big STs weapon for them.
