Wayne Hunter has been terrible this year, but this play stands out the most as the best to show how terrible he's been. At the snap, Hunter drives forward and blocks no one. 2 Chargers rush on both sides of him but he does not block either player. While Sanchez is getting rushed Hunter continues to just stand there looking for someone to block. Sanchez heaves the ball off his back foot and I wondered....Does Hunter know he's supposed to block someone? I thought the question was legit. EDIT - It's even worse when you watch it.
I literally fell laughing at that play, I doubt it can be worst watching it he looks like a fucking moron just standing there. He seems to struggle horribly against speed rushers and he just looks completely lost sometimes. He doesn't have the agility and footwork to be a starter let alone be a fucking Tackle where you are dealing with amazing pass rushers. I don't know why the FO didn't sign a capable RT last offseason but looking at those pictures was a good laugh.
what made it even worse was after that game, san diego signed a tackle who kc cut after picking him up from the ravens. he played against the ravens for san diego and did extremely well. was tanny sleeping while those two teams were able to bring that guy in?
Come on. Hunter did nothing wrong. It is all Sanchez' fault. He has regressed. A good QB would will his line to block better.
I was wondering if maybe it was possible it was a screen play but none of the other linemen appear to be moving to block for a screen. Is Vlad REALLY that much worse than this guy?
What happened with this guy? I recall the majority of us had good things to say when he filled in for an injured D. Woody at the end of last season. Rex talking up the guy (but now we know thats nothing more than sweet smelling horseshit). Callahan said he was one of the better o-lineman he has ever coached. Lockout? Bullshit. The guy was given a legit shot with the starting RT job early in camp and just blew it. There's just no other way to explain it. And the worse part about it is that Tanny did have plenty of opportunities to bring in someone else and he WAS asleep at the wheel.
You just saw the graphic analysis of Wayne fucking Hunter screwing things up at the very top of this page - and you had the nerve to say THIS? Wow.
To the OP: why don't you go analyze the one play during Denver game, where von Miller ass-rapes Hunter at will? It will be hilarious, I assure you.
Oh come on. Schottenheimer can't do anything if the OL can't block. Ah. Right. the OL can't do much if Sanchez sucks so bad. It's all Sanchez's fault that the offense is horrible.
Yeah I heard about that Tackle the chargers signed from KC. He looked really good against the Ravens. Apparently the Chiefs cut him because on a 4th & 1 with the game on the line, he got penalized for false start or something like that.
Vlad was that bad in pre-season and must have been that bad in practice-they saw what Hunter was doing every week and they still didn't give Vlad a shot at tackle and then they'd mess around with the Colin Baxters of the world to make sure they didn't have to play Vlad at guard. It's got to be the case that wayne misunderstood the play call and thought it was a screen or something.
The five part case for Mike Tannenbaum is not good enough to be the Jet's GM: 1. Drafted Vladimir Ducasse from Zoo Mass in the 2nd round. 2. Ducasse sucks so bad he couldn't get on the field in 2010. 3. Signed career backup Wayne Hunter to a 4 year $12.9 million deal in 2011 off-season. 4. Hunter makes us all wonder how he survived as a career backup once he is exposed as a starter in 2011 and disrupts the offensive flow to the point that nobody else looks good in the offense. 5. Ducasse still sucks too bad to get on the field much even with a gasoline soaked tackling dummy lighting matches on every snap as the competition at RT. Tannenbaum doesn't have any respect for the offensive line because you can't sell tickets based on who your RT is. He doesn't understand that you can't sell tickets based on anybody else either unless the line is solid. He's going to have to be replaced at this point before the Jets move forward again. Ignoring the fundamentals is the one thing you can't survive even if you have strong points elsewhere.
Unfortunately he learned this from the one who you have named yourself after. Bradway started this trend of ignoring the OL when he let Kerry Jenkins, Randy Thomas and Kareem McKenzie leave. Everyone was killing Mangini for the Gholston trade, but as I pointed out before Mangini was the brains behind the great drafts they had thru the years. He was the one behind the drafting of Brick, Mangold, Brad Smith, Revis and Harris et al. I like Tannenbaum. He's a man of action, but his football smarts still has me a little worried.
I just keep looking at this post and laughing my ass off. God, why is this guy in the NFL? What the fuck? And how can Ducasse be worse??? What the fuck?
