If we do that and not focus on other glaring holes I will part ways a little from this team... OLB S RT in all first 3 rounds in any order... It must be done
Nice post....I haven't even read thru all of it yet.....But whats glaring from all the posts is...."SANCHIZE" is Jets biggest weakness !!! Thats it....Its a fact. He's not elite, he doesn't make the players around him better, in fact....he makes the players around him worse....lol. The scary part of this is that its true. I will address the rest of post later. All ur points seem on the mark..
I don't disagree, it just seems like the team avoids need picks (or the obvious 'need' picks) most times and makes puzzler picks in the mid rounds. Call it the Bradway Syndrome. Probably will be a year that we wait until the 6th pick for a safety.
Just read a "War Room" and I was reminded about the Dewayne Robertson draft. Bradway said he didnt think there was talent in picks 13-17 so he traded up for Robertson. Polumalu, Dallas Clark, and Nnamdi all went after 13.
I would go after Avril and Griffin in free agency. Maybe even bring back Braylon for a two year deal. I think if we can sure up those 3 spots in FA then we can go BPA in the first.
I agree with your statement. I think, pending a new offensive coordinator/direction, Sanchez has his rookie contract to show some marked improvement. If I could see an average of 24 points a game with a jump of say 5-10% in completion percentage then we are talking.
Hmmm...I can agree with this. Elite guys are hard to find. Would you think another "complimentary" guy on the other side would work?
It all depends on your definition of elite. Most people can name at least 8 off the top of their head...
I agree here too. We'll be drafting in the low to mid 20's and I would prefer not to reach for a guy or trade ANY draft picks away for a climb up the board. Take our top 3 needs and pick whomever is best at which ever position at the time. Period. This year we need ALL our picks.
I disagree with you here a bit. Sanchez does have his issues. But for it to be all on him is short sighted. Also, I do think he does make the players around him better...to a degree. A perfect example is his play action ability. He's not finished with his 3rd year yet but I would put him top 5 in his play action ability. Agreed with other posters...there are MAYBE 3 or 4 elite QB's in the league and one hasn't played all year. All we need is for Sanchez to be good. If we can get VERY good with a solid play calling offensive coordinator then I think we will be fine. Time will tell.
:rofl2: Come up with that yourself? Anyway.. to the post if you like the continuation of OVERTURN in coaches(Not Defending Schotty) and QBs and don't Enjoy Chemistry then ya Draft a QB till you strike gold. Build around the Kid no QB in year 3 is Elite keep drafting QBs and having them killed behind a poor OL and a Defence that cant compete. Because either is complete( Nor do I fucking expect ProBowlers in every posistion ).... I would like a team built with thru the draft; role players; and Depth.... not asking for allstars every where. It's a team sport for a reason
Great post! Yes, Callahan does seem a logical choice and the most important part to a young QB is maintained....continuity. He's familiar with Callahan and vice versa. I definitely feel it is worth a shot.
I'd call last years drafting a DE in Wilkerson a need pick. Also Ellis as a NT. We were really old on the D line last year and needed some youth.
I can name 20 QBs off the top of my head that doesn't make them elite. Elite means best of the best. In that category there are AR, TB, and Brees who are all heads and shoulders above everyone else. Before this year I would have put Rivers in that category but he has had issues this year. There are borderlines like Roethlisberger but I wouldn't consider him elite.
