LOL.... How the fuck do you know that? I've gotten the opposite impression of RR from his time here: he's willing to deviate, adjust and seek others' council.

I think it'd be really smart for us to bring in an OC with previous experience and SUCCESS coordinating an offense. I think RR will make that happen. Whether it be Callahan or an outsider.

I think Rex will replace Schotty this offseason, possibly with Callahan. After all, he's going to need someone to throw under the bus and Shotty is a relatively low-risk guy to get rid of.

Pettine will stick around for one more year. I think by the end of next season, Dallas will have figured out that Rob Ryan is a total fraud as a defensive coordinator and shit can him and Rex will bring him in here.

Again, no threat of either one of those two blowing the whistle on Rex.

You basically described the Herm Edwards era.

Pettine/RR will be running the defense for the foreseeable future and rightfully so. #1, #3, and #7 defenses in their time here. We haven't had that kind of consistency on any side of the ball since I popped my football cherry in '98.

I basically described every era since Weeb Ewbank, with the exception of Parcells.

Trust me, it's the same shit over and over. Bring in an inexperienced "players coach", get a year or two of moderate success followed by failure. Coach buys himself a couple of extra years by throwing a coordinator or two or a high-profile player under the bus. Fire coach. Replace coach with inexperienced "disciplinarian" because previous coach was too easy on players, get a year or two of moderate success followed by failure. Coach buys himself a couple of extra years by throwing a coordinator or two or a high-profile player under the bus. Fire coach. Replace coach with inexperienced "players coach" because previous coach was too strict...

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

I can see why you're a cynic. This team has fucked you many times through the years but you're still watching and I respect that.

To me, though, this team has looked much more competitive than it ever was under Herm or Mangini. This team never had a consistently good offense or defense under either Herm or EM.... They were middle of the pack and never made much noise in January. RRs defenses will keep this team in every game. No, they won't break records or make up for a shitty offense, but that side of the ball is competent. Our Offense is what holds us back.....

I think RR will always bring a legit defense with him. He's never coordinated a D ranked worse than 7th.... If we can get a competent offense to go with the D, this is a contender.

We'll have to agree to disagree there.

BTW: I noticed your use of the word 'inexperienced'. Is it your opinion that an established SB winning HC should be leading this team? Then we aren't so far off base, because I'd like an experienced SB-winning OC to be brought in as our OC.

    Turner, I'd be fine with.

Spagnuolo is just an awful idea. We don't need to blow up the defense, just tweak it. Overreaction to the max.

As long as were picking dead guys, why not go all in and get Lombardi for OC and Landry for DC

Spags is a renowned 3-4 guru, right? Brilliant.

That aside, I think the coaching staff needs serious upgrade at:

    1. Offensive Coordinator (This is the most glaring of all - he makes the entire offense look real bad with shit play designs and shittier play calls.)
    2. QB Coach.

I also think Rex needs to get more involved in the defense - the defense we've seen this year is not the patented Rex Ryan defense, if you ask me. I do not see players communicating nor do they create pressure up front. It reminds me a lot of Mangini defense during his last tenure, minus some terrifying personnel (i.e. Kris Jenkins.)

Spags for Jets DC does have merit as one of the dumbest, but Norv as OC actually makes sense for both Jets and Norv. I wouldn't put this thread on the dumbest category as of yet. (see other troll threads by what, jetsownz or something? That qualifies as one)
