Why is no one talking more about this kid? From all the tape I've seen on him and the games I've watched he's really good. Great footwork/accuracy and most importantly he throws receivers open. Also from what I'm hearing hes projected as a late 5th/6th rounded. My only knock is hes listed as 6'0 but we'll see what his real height is come combine. Anyway his stats: Comp/Att Yds Comp% YPA Long TDs Int Sack RAT 2011 - 326 439 3800 74.3 8.66 71 43 9 7 175.2 2010 - 273 383 3845 71.3 10.04 83 35 6 6 182.6 2009 - 277 431 3536 64.3 8.20 67 39 3 5 161.7 2008 - 281 405 3486 69.4 8.61 80 25 10 13 157.1 anyway, thoughts?
I'm a huge Kellen Moore fan, he's a winner. Everything he does on the "College Football" field turns to gold, but that's where it will end. It's sad that his College career is over, he was a special player. Kellen Moore is closer to 5'10" at best, and has a very weak arm that will be exposed in the NFL. Moore will be drafted , but will be nothing more than a backup. Moore is highly intelligent and has been around football his entire life and could be a coach someday. Unfortunately, the NFL is for the physically gifted, especially at the QB position. Moores' smarts in 6'3' frame with a rocket arm would be lethal.
Basically he's Colt McCoy 2.0 with the actual Colt being more physically gifted (and that's saying something).
His arm really doesn't look that weak to me on film, I see velocity on the throws, but wow is he really 5'10? I'll wait till the combine stats come out because in the huddle he doesn't look that short but who knows what this kid can be. Either way if we can get him in the 6th round shouldn't we?
I think he's much better than McCoy. McCoy isn't going to survive in the NFL, don't be surprised if the Browns draft a QB. Kellen Moore's height is probably one of the biggest mysteries, I've seen anywhere from 5' 10" to 6'2". I believe he's about 5'10" and only around 185lbs. Moore's biggest strenght is that his Dad is a HS Football Coach, he's lived Xs & Os his entire life.
I really liked what I saw out of McElroy in the preseason but he got injured too quickly which makes me wonder about his toughness a bit. I swear he doesn't look 5'10 though. This is him standing next to 6'4 tyrone crawford http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSm-jOBOaStjRU93KfE-uAFiQXhrFS7gcQKlBXmV17mUo9CN-Kk His heads low too, I'd guess hes around 6'0 or 6'1 even.
Well lets say for discussion purposes Kellen gets measured at say 6'1 at the combine should we take him in the late rounds?
I stood next to him at the MWC media day here in Vegas and he's not much taller then me. I'm 5'8 so no way he's over 6 feet and if he is he's barely 6 feet. He's got the winning down and I think arm strength is overrated but I don't think athletically he's gifted enough to play in the NFL. I'd love to see him come in and have success but what he has in his favor is that QB's from all places, look at John Skelton from Fordham, kid was a gifted QB in college but the Fordham thing scared people away. Now he's the best QB the Cards have on their roster.
I didn't really mean in physichal size or attributes, just that if you can play the NFL will find you regardless of what school you attended.
