Both with more focus on the offense because Rex is an elite defensive mind and can get away with more with less.
There's absolutely no point in keeping Sanchez around if the offense is not going to be a priority rebuild at this point. David Carr was actually a pretty good QB who didn't get enough support to turn the corner and become a great one. The Jets are in a completely different place right now on offense if the line stayed as strong as it was in 2008 and 2009. The Jet's inability to maintain it while trying to shore up other areas of the team has basically lead to a wipe out on that side of the ball. For all the anger directed at Sanchez right now the facts are that the Jets crumbled against two teams with a strong pass rush. The offense has looked pretty sick all season against teams that can apply strong pressure. The exceptions being Dallas, where Tony Romo handed the Jets the game at the end, and Miami and Washington, both of which lacked any offensive cohesion when they played the Jets. Having a hole at RT really blew the season for the Jets. The difference between 2007 with the Adrien Clarke debacle at LG and this year is that until late in the season Sanchez wasn't giving up on plays early like he has in the last two games against top 6 pass rushes. Chad was Captain Checkdown from the moment he got knocked out against Baltimore until the moment he was relieved by Clemens at mid season. Clemens never got his feet on the ground at all because the pressure he faced was too much.
People jumping the gun WAY to quickly. We could still make the playoffs, and we are a few mental mistakes away from being a playoff team and im going to even say division winner. (Playing like morons against the Pats killed all our momentum). I say invest in the defense, we need to get that top defense back, cuz honestly it sucked this year.
Sanchez is getting way too much blame this week. Plus this team has too many holes to go qb shopping. Sanchez has improved each year. Rebuild the o-line. Play ground and pound again. Let sanchez do what he is good at..throwing off play action and bootlegs with a good run game to back him up Consider signing braylon if he will come cheap during the off season. Throw the rest of the money/picks at the defense. They need it. And fire shotty.
Both sides of the ball have been subpar this season. There wasn't a single game where I felt the defense could hold at the end if they needed too, and mostly they didn't. It felt like Herm's bend but don't break defenses that broke too often when the game was on the line against a quality opponent. The offense has just been a major clusterfuck. When the Jets could run against somebody and control the game they mostly didn't. When the clock said go-for-broke they broke even. That's how you get to .500. This Jets team reminds me of the Giants teams from 2005 to 2008 only they're not going to luck out and get the accidental ring off of a 5th seed.
Sanchez's Jet future comes down to next season. A new OC and new QB coach should help him become whom we hope he would be. Otherwise he's finished and so is our SB dreams for years to comehmy:
If Sanchez doesn't get some major help this off-season I don't think he's going to come through in the end. Eli Manning would have been run out of town by now without that trophy in 2007. People would point at all the Giants failures to make the playoffs and he'd be number two on the hit list after Tom Coughlin who'd also be gone by now.
Sanchez has been hit hard and the Jet front office must address the OL which is Swiss cheese. However Sanchez has taken 3 steps back in his development and that's on him. Look for Tanny to bring in a veteran QB to challenge Sanchez as the starting QB in 2012
Offensive Line depth must be taken care of. It may be time to start looking for Brandon Moore's replacement in addition to a RT.
Sanchez requires a little more than major help; he needs to rebuild his confidence which is clearly in the gutter. This is a QB who is playing like he is afraid of his own shadow and appears to be at the low point of his short non-distinguished career. Having an inexperienced Head Coach who spends more time trash talking about meaningless issues than properly preparing his players for games does not help either. The Jets' personnel issues are relatively minor compared to Sanchez' fragile state of mind. Also, the Jets reluctance to sit Sanchez down a game or two when he is stinking up the joint hasn't helped the cause. Of course, that is the predicament you put yourself in when you agree to grossly overpay a marginally talented player who has never taken an NFL snap. Plain and simple, the Jets have been a pathetic losing organization for decades now and apparently continue to do the things which will keep them losers for many more years, if not decades, to come.
What??? We are not even close to being division winners. Not even in the ballpark. Absolutely nowhere near it. Just.....NO!!!!! Comparing a team that will finish 13-3 to a team that may or may not finish 8-8. Just stop. Please. If the Cowboys lose to the Giants, then the Jets went the whole season without beating a single team with a winning record. If Dallas wins, then great....they beat one 9-7 team. Just no. No, no, no.
I disagree, if we beat New England, we beat the Broncos, run the table lose to the Eagles. Also chances are the Patriots wouldve lost another game and finished 11-5. Ahh well.
Do you not realize, you are dealing with a blabbering fucking idiot with all of these juvenile threads? Please ban him and tell him to die in a fire on the way out.
Soxxx, I appreciate you being an optimistic fan and all.......but that is the most skewed, retarded, nonsensical, idiotic, attempt at logic I've ever seen. If they beat New England? They didn't. They lost twice. Had they beaten New England they would have run the table up to Philly? Based on what? We would have beaten Denver? Based on what? Is that some weird, "A team won last week so they automatically win the following week" logic? The Jets didn't win those games for a reason. The Jets aren't a good team. The Pats would have lost another game because the Jets beat them? WTF??? How does that work? If NE loses and the Jets win this week they still finish 3 full games behind them (plus the tiebreak). They aren't anywhere, ANYWHERE near a division title.

If Sanchez was Puerto Rican would you still love him and think hes the greatest Qb ever live? Instead of calling me annoying and defending your buddy why don't you tell us why the great Sanchez is so great or just flat out ignore me.
