He has 2 years left on his rookie contract so you might be right but somehow, I get the feeling that as long as Tannenbaum is GM and Rex is the HC, MS will start for this team with either a stiff or an unproven rookie QB to back him up. This FO/CS is all in on Sanchez and they'll ride that horse into oblivion if they must.
Stats are deceiving. Even with the stats you provided, he has the 2nd lowest QBR in the league. There is a reason for that.
Part of the reason is that QBR is an awful statistic. As bad as Sanchez can be he is not the 2nd worst starting QB in the NFL
I also agree with you there. I think the truth is in the middle somewhere. He is nowhere near the 2nd worst QB in the league, but if you look at his 30/15 ratio, he just isn't that good either.
He is without a doubt in the bottom third and probably a little bit lower if you don't include the guys that are starting because of injury.
And 7 or 8 fumble so he's basically a tick above 1:1 TD to TO Probably true, I really don't feel like itemizing all the quarterbacks in the league and making some sort of subjective ranking system but yeah he shouldn't be ranked very high. I don't know how much he's holding the team back because he wasn't doing so the past two years when he was actually a worse QB than he is now. He just can't be relied upon to be the guy that elevates the team like the elites do.
Jets do not even run Bum Phillips 3-4... Or why don't you watch Texans defense for a change? Why do you think Mario Williams, a 4-3 DE, changed his position to OLB in Phillips 3-4? Wasn't he supposed to be equally as effective as a pass rusher in 3-4 DE position? (For umpteenth time, WATCH AND LEARN. If you are asking for 3-4 DEs to create pressure, you are probably better off playing golf or something.)
I agree tho, its time for Sanchez to go. He cant move the ball. Watching Matt Moore do it, makes me jealous. All these average QBs can move it, but for Sanchez its so hard.
Also the reason I assume his QBR is so low is because the only time he can consistently move the ball is when the defense is sitting back in a prevent at the end of the half/games.
He will also be the starting QB for this team in 2013 too. He'll start until his contract is over no matter how bad things get.
You are delusional .... Orton ? .... Is a 3rd rate piece of sh*t .... Sanchez is NOT the problem here, a few recievers that know how to catch would not hurt, saw at very least 4 nice passes that must be caught dropped today and most every week ....
Yeah but the contract thing is just a matter of semantics really, the Jets really don't have any better options. You're not drafting somebody else, not on a team that recently made back to back AFC title game runs. You're not giving up multiple picks for Peyton Manning for the same reason mentioned before. Unless a situation like 06 arises when Drew Brees became a FA get used to Sanchez, there's no other choice.
