That trailer is awesome. I love the casting for young Bilbo, and I love that Ian Holm will be there to bridge the gap between the movies. I can't wait for this.
From what Jackson and Del Toro have said, it sounds like the first film will cover most of (if not all of) the book, and the second film is going to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and the FoTR, showing the growing discord between the lands of men, dwarves, and elves.
Looking forward to it. Martin Freeman that plays the hobbit is in the new sherlock holmes series (I started a thread about it elsewhere) and made his name in the original version of the Office (one of my favourite scenes below): It will have to go some though to top this awesome version!! MAJOR NEWS http://www.deadline.com/2012/07/peter-jackson-confirms-the-hobbit-will-be-three-films/ Peter Jackson to make not 2 but THREE HOBBIT FILMS WTF
This is cool news as more Peter Jackson Middle Earth films can't hurt, but I don't see how The Hobbit or even adding stuff from the LOTR Appendices can add up to a 3 movie deal. Are the running times going to be shorter than 3 hours? Like 2 hours each? If so, sounds like a money making deal. If each will be 3 hours, then they must be adding A LOT of stuff, which I like.
Ha ent read it in a while, but I seem to recall their escaping in barrels near the middle of the book I bet that's the end of part 1
