Last year after we beat NE and then lost the following week to Pitt I heard players say and be quoted saying "they were so spent " after NE or that game was "their Superbowl" . Those interviews and quotes made me ill....I mean if you are just happy to win a playoff game and I don't care who it was/ is against then you are not "getting it ". After that Championsip loss I questioned the leadership ( mainly players but coaches also ) on this team. I still cannot believe how they played in Pitt to this day ! Fast forward to this week----huge game against the Giants,,for playoff spots and all the works. If we should win this game are any of you confident that the team will come out and play well against the Fish ? I am not. I know they have not played well most of the year but if they should indeed grant our xmas wish and beat the Giants---and have EVERYTHING rite in front of them against the Fish (win and be in) and come out and lay an egg and do not show up alla the PITT game , I think I will be quite ill along with many of you  They have to stepup in these situations, after all the adversity and lost opportunities, that is what good teams and winning teams do. Time will tell but I sure hope they are not just happy to be there / here !
I said this three weeks ago - if it comes down to that one game, I'm buying a new Sunday-going-to-church gun.
The Fins have been looking good, but in a win-and-in scenario do you guys really think we lose that game? I'm not saying it's impossible or even completely improbable but I have a little more faith in the team than that, especially if we beat the Giants. I know it's been a rough season and we don't trust our team very much anymore, but of all the teams for it to (possibly) come down to the Fins are not that bad. I think the Giants this weekend will be the bigger issue. Won't be easy, but I see us bouncing back and winning it. The Giants are a wounded team that has been losing a lot lately.
Same could have been said for the Eagles. We win last week and could have split these last 2 and been in. The Jets always find a way to make the easy more difficult, but since Rex got here we have been winning the difficult games. If it comes down to it, I think we beat the Dolphins, but not easily.
I would hardly compare the Eagles to the Dolphins, and I didn't mean that the sense of urgency was the only piece, but it helps. The Dolphins are a beatable team, and having direct playoff motivation would help a lot. I don't think there's quite as much pressure when you still have 2 more games left and there is a long list of possibilities to make the playoffs. That said, I'm not trying to dismiss the Eagles loss, it was terrible and we dropped the ball. I was optimistic we would win that game and I couldn't have been more wrong. But I don't think it's quite the same situation. But, it seems we agree that we think the Jets would pull out a win. I also agree that I don't think it will be easy by any means, but again, not the worst opponent.
rex is probably the best coach in the league for that one big game, last years pat's game proved that. but the let down after the big game has been a killer for the jets. i see the jets winning against the giants and the phins being the nightmare loss! this team has been inconsistant and it will show it's ugly head eventually. fish game is the one that scares me and they're actually playing hard nosed ball.
seriously, why does the OP care.... maybe he can go to the Miami game and be closer to MickeyMouseland after the game
